First, some positives. The music is good. .... That's it. Okay, negatives: The gameplay is very shallow, the gear means nothing beyond a few select encounters. Stats are confusing and don't seem to matter, again, beyond a few select encounters. The game also disincentivizes violence, you gain very little from fighting, and the pacifist route is more rewarding, so the only optimal way to play is to be non-violent. This wouldn't be a problem if the process of sparing enemies wasn't so tedious, ironically more tedious than just fighting. Replayability is non-existent due to linearity, beyond some dialogue branches, there is very little else to see if you've already played through once, and the way said dialogue is handled makes it veeery tedious. The dialogue also always leads to the same place regardless of what you pick as well. The story is.....not good. The past eight years have been Toby spinning his wheels in order to keep all the reveals for the end of the game, this means characters cannot have meaningful conversations, they cannot actually talk about what's happening, and everything feels like we're just vamping until we get to the next part. The greatest travesty is the returning UT cast, they are plot devices, and it seems Toby doesn't care about them as much as he does the new characters. In particular, what made me want to write this review was his treatment of Toriel, who serves as a plot-device for both moving the plot and for drama. I realize I'm in the minority of reviews, but I know many people are dissatisfied with the way the game is going. I think the core of the issue is.....Toby just isn't that good of a writer when it comes to longer-form stories or in-depth plots. Undertale was simple, though many would say otherwise, it was very sparse on details and the characters, while having some depth, were ultimate more archetypical than people realize. Deltarune meanwhile is trying to paint a more complex narrative and present the same characters in a new light, but it fails because Toby seems too afraid to drip-feed the plot. He also can't commit to more....shall we say mature story decisions. I mentioned Toriel earlier, and let's just say, he did not commit to the arc he seemed to intend for her. This I think comes from him wanting to maintain "positive vibes".....but then you wonder why he would raise these implications if that was the goal. I do not recommend this game, at least not now. Wait until it's actually finished. At least then you'll be getting the complete package instead of being left with an incomplete package for two years.

As someone who really did not like Undertale as much as every other person on the planet, I was not expecting to enjoying this game as much. However, my good friend kept recommending me that I play the first two chapters. I loved them so much that I played Ch1 and CH2 in one day and then picked up the rest the next day. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED AND YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS NOW! DELTARUNE IS WAITING.

The life forever for Flowers Спасибо НТайму за его видео, ведь без него я бы не стал играть в дельтарун скорее всего до полного его выхода. Игра невероятная, прошел на оба рута, всех секретных боссов и единственное что немного огорчило - это недостаток хардкора, ведь я прошел всех секретных боссов за 3-8 попыток и хотелось бы челленджа по типу санса из андертейла, на которого реально пришлось потратить около 50 попыток или больше (точно не помню). Надеюсь подобный босс появится в качестве секретного босса 6 или 7 главы.
