Delores is back home and working as a photographer for the Nickel News. Thimbleweed Park hasn’t changed at all in the year she’s been away… or has it? Sample Ron Gilbert’s new adventure game engine in this free prototype that uses “found art” from the award-winning Thimbleweed Park.

I love everything about Thimbleweed Park, so any excuse to go back into that world is welcome - and they gave it to us for free as well! Here's hoping for a sequel someday!
Lovely little Demo/Prototype, if you enjoyed Thimbleweed this is a nice way to revisit the town, and fun.
Fun mini game with a great atmosphere

Einfach toll! Danke Ron!
writing so far stuck up it's own that it becomes unbearable. cute artstyle & nothing else.
After finishing Thimbleweed Park (2017), I wondered if the devs - Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick were working on anything else. I quickly learned that they followed up with another release in the franchise titled Delores: A Thimbleweed Park Mini-Adventure (2020) (free on Steam). I would consider this new chapter a standalone prologue to Thimbleweed Park using the titular character from that game - Delores. I also learned that not only were they the creators of Maniac Mansion (1987) and Day of the Tentacle (1993), but they also worked on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure (1989), Loom (1990), The Secret of Monkey Island (1990), Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (1991) and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1992) among others. Games I really enjoyed in their heyday. I'm afraid this is where the praise ends. In Delores: A Thimbleweed Park Mini-Adventure, the devs seem to have retconned the ending of Thimbleweed Park. They knew they painted themselves into a corner, before considering a sequel which is slated for 2028. I think the mini-game was a low effort, necessary evil to readjust the timeline going forward. There were better ways to fix the continuity. They should have called me. In this bite-sized game, there are no puzzles in the traditional sense. Delores is a freelance photographer assigned to take pics for the local newspaper. The mini-game takes place in 1988 and is confined to the limits of the small town. The game can be played on a potato. There are no auto or manual saves. You have to complete it in one sitting. After you turn in the photos to the editor, the game is done. You can start a new game and you'll be assigned with new photos to take. I completed the mini-game in 54m.
