Early access of course, so not without it's odd bug or two. But what you get is an already fairly good tower defence style game with traps and waves of incresingly difficult and unique enemies. Throw some boss characters in there and you have a pretty good game! It's quite refreshing to have what could have been any old wave shooter made into something a bit more engaging! Looking forward to seeing some fixes and more contented added in the future!
http://www.83830.com/game/201705/181143038.shtml
This was actually a really fun game. I was a pretty big fan of tower defense games back in the day on my Android phones/tablets. There's something special about being able to see everything up close and help your traps out with some additional sniping. I'm realy looking forward to getting some additional content. More traps, more game modes, more maps, more enemies, more everything. I think with some additional polish and maybe some more game modes (I'll always want this to be multiplayer) this game could really shine. There were a few little bugs that I noticed that would randomly affect me, though. Sometimes I'd be standing still, looking around, and then I'd notice that I was sliding to my right (for no reason). Other than that, it worked surprisingly well. If additional content comes out I will purchase it. Do keep in mind I received this free as I was lucky enough to help with the beta test though.
First a disclaimer... I played the Beta version so many of the things I'm going to mention may have been fixed in the final version. The game is in essence a Strategy Tower Defense game combined with a First Person Shooter in VR. That, in it of itself is great! As is typical with TD games, you can use the money earned to purchase/place various traps in the enemy's path before each wave. On top of that, you can teleport yourself around shooting the enemy using a very fast, fully automatic, crossbow with laser-pointer accuracy. There are 10 maps and two modes, stage and endless, to choose from. The game is fun overall, but this being in BETA, there were a lot of unfinished features, undeveloped game mechanics, and bugs that I think should be addressed before this game can achieve its full potential. Some of these are: - when choosing a map for Endless mode, only map 10 can be chosen using the arrows. To move the selection to a different map one has to click directly on the bar underneath the picture. - On the welcome scene, there seems to be a lot of space, but nothing going on... this could have easily been handled with simple menu. - There's only one weapon available, no upgrades, only one kind of bolt, and no shield. This is a painfully underutilized potential. On top of that, the crossbow is so fast and accurate that it is better than any assault rifle or sniper than I've seen in any game. - The game doesn't seem to use physics. All animations seem to be pre-animated and repetitive. Even the bolts shot by the crossbow go in a straight line and hit the target instantly. - The enemy does not seem to be aware the traps are there. The walk directly into a trap even when there's plenty of room to walk around it. - There's no penalty when selling traps, so you could change your whole layout of traps between each wave. Also, there is no time limit between waves, nor a bonus fro starting the waves quicker. - The Firetrap only affects enemies in front of it, but the trap cannot be rotated, so it basically can only be used when the path is parallel to the trap. - The "Barrier", which is used to block the way of the enemy, seems to last forever, so you can re-route the enemies indefinitely. Even the Dynamite Carrying enemies don't seem to even try to blow them up. - The progression of the enemies could be better balanced. One minute you're destroying hordes of enemies with ease with your crossbow, the next comes an enemy that doesn't seem to die even with continuous head shots. In one instance, after passing 26 levels of Endless mode with relative ease I got hit with a large number (30?) of these tough enemies. I was able to defeat 7 or so at the most. I would love to hear from anyone that passes that level. - Traps cannot be upgraded. - Teleporting seems very short range. But it can be done very fast, though. - There doesn't seem to be a story anywhere, you simply go from level to level, from map to map. No explanations, no tutorial, no Lore. - I found a few spelling errors during the loading screen. Also, the loading screen sometimes mentions information for specific enemies, but it doesn't have a picture to go with it. I could not find a scrapbook, notebook, or anything to look for information on the enemies. So unless you know from previous experience what each enemy is called, you won't know what they're talking about. - It's hard to teleport behind you, which leaves you giving your back to the enemy. I hope they fix/improve many of these features. It would make for a much more enjoyable game.
