A nice take on theme, but it's not too balanced. I enjoyed it but listen to the music for too long and you'll slowly go insane. Overall, solid, room for improvement, the Cherri Bomb units are unfortunately useless as they are too slow, Pea Shooter are very exploitable, they fully upgrade for cheap and you can go all "Valley of Death" with them, if you don't do that the Gummy Bears will get you! Still, great potential but a bit pricey.
With a cute pixel art style, it's quite pleasing to look at but hard to master. Not being the best strategist in the world, I decide to see how the game runs on Steam Deck, and, as expected, runs wonderfully. An absolute recommendation of a game if you like puzzles and strategy and, of course, if you are better at it, than I was in my gameplay, (which I'm going to to guess you are). https://youtu.be/rOPwNTzZsuk
Very enjoyable game, very challenging levels. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to see what is added in the future!
A very fun game to play... albeit can be quite steep on the difficulty curve if you don't know what you're doing. Definitely worth playing!
Playtime says it all, 9 hours is a lot for an indie game. Check out my video on the game! https://youtu.be/UR90tjv-Fdk
Great little Indie game, bit of a challenge to get you hooked! Look forward to seeing what this game looks like when in full release!
I love this game though it can be a bit frustrating on some of the levels. Although it looks cute its evil as anything, some of the levels are very hard but i'm still making my way through them all! Have been a few bugs along the way but the developer is quick to fix anything that is reported (normally the same day) which is great - and none have been game breaking. I love you can do levels or endless, but it is a game you need to set aside time for - some levels take 20-30 minutes (endless more) and you cannot save mid way through a level. If you love tower defense and challenges definitely give this a go.
Brutal TD game with an amusing art style to contrast and a really calming soundtrack... until you're on the edge of your seat trying to save your tree! Definitely worth checking out!
Early Access review: Defend from Candyland is a tower defence game which is both addictive and frustrating. The good news is that being early access means that the game is tweakable so I would still recommend it in its current state. Not many bugs to report, only one I noticed was that occasionally when restarting the wave for the billionth time (you will die alot in the normal level mode) some candies can still be present on the map. With regards to gameplay, It took me a while to learn about upgrading towers, its not overly clear although once you have worked it out the levels are fun although I do think that gummy bears are overpowered, especially with the fact they split into two pieces with full health after being initially defeated. I'm up to level 10 at the moment but pretty sure I survived levels 8/9 by sheer luck. Turrets, I would suggest the firerate/damage output is increased, or at the very least the points you gain for defeating candies should be increased so they can be upgraded more, often you don't earn enough points to build a defence against the gummy bears so are powerless to stop them from damaging your tree. I would rework or introduce the tutorial that tells people what the turrets are, how to upgrade etc, this would be a big help as it's not overly clear to a new player. Endless mode is alot of fun though, you seem to gather points alot faster so can upgrade all turrets and destroy everything before it can get anywhere near your base, managed up to level 124 on my first try but will keep playing to see what my new personal best will be.
Looks like it could be a kiddie Tower Defense (that's how I initially bypassed it), but is anything but. Deserves a lot more attention as it will really stretch the grey matter with its clever mazing options and tower selection. Has an Endless Mode on each on the 120 levels which would probably drag out too long if it wasn't for the numerous speedup options. A very competent title!!
