It turns out that the far side of Venus is populated by a whole mess of crazy-ass life forms, including big fuzzy bioluminescent jellyfish that shoot eggs everywhere. You play one of those jellyfish in a one-button physics puzzler about launching and exploding your eggs to plant babies all over the planet. Once you get the basics of hitting targets down the game starts introducing additional movements to the sequence, like speed boosts, bounces, rolls, and so on. Using whatever sequence you have loaded at the right times will get your seeds where they need to go, and can also score you two stars per level tucked away in hard-to-hit spots. Once upon a time, this was the chillest game in my library, enough that I would pop it open as a break between other games all the time. There’s zero stress or pressure here, just you, a bunch of targets, and infinite chances to hit them. The graphics are busy as hell but sway in a calm, reserved way and the soundtrack is exactly the weird kind of low-key ambient you’re expecting. With four chapters of 20 levels apiece this one can keep you busy for a good long while, working out all your trick shots or just blasting jellyfish bits all over Venus to relax. Why did you think it was a good idea to make a 1-button puzzle game? Who would pay money for this? Deep under the sky doesn't care. Deep under the sky knows what it wants to be, and does it well. Read its product description, it is extremely accurate. I can't really recommend the game, but damn these developers (Colin Northway and Rich Edwards) are groovy.
This sort of game belongs on mobile devices.
6/10. This is a clear mobile port. I was originally excited for the game, as many people have noted, the trailer makes it look like you have control of your character. In true mobile fashion, this game is playing with one button. You mouse click to shoot, and then mouse click/mouse hold to use an ability. It kind of plays like angry birds. You have to impregnate plants/bubbles basically. You have the same goal and do the same thing every single level. There are a few added abilities like a wheel and a grapple hook, but not being able to aim or control them much is annoying. The art direction is cool, and there still is something satisfying about popping all the bubbles. The game is pretty short, and there is no real story. For some reason, the game would not let me quit it, saying "there's been a problem"?? All in all the game is a nice distraction for a bit, but the same mechanics and simplicity of play/lack of control start to get old.
cute game where you squirt squid jizz inside plants
Beautiful one-button game, it would be fun to play on a phone, but on the PC it doesn't feel fun. I stoped playing after 5 levels, maybe later on it gets harder and you actually have to think but so far it's pretty dull
slow, boring, pointless, ugly art, utterly bad music, terrible support and performances

It is essentially a Angry Birds type tower destroyer set in space (the sea?), with one button controls. They really seem to milk what they can out of this simple concept, plus, it just looks and sounds quite nice. Note: I'd definitely prefer this as a mobile game, so I can play it when I'm waiting for a bus, or for a steam game to load.
The game is beautiful but the gameplay is just not geared towards play on the PC. I had fun with the game but the controls, which center on tapping on the spacebar, are much better translated to those of a tablet or mobile device. I own it on both PC and Android and I highly recommend picking it up on a mobile platform instead.
This game has a beautiful design, but if you're expecting a platformer of any sort, you'll be sorely disappointed. Instead, this game is more like puzzle golf with unlimited shots and a lot of trial and error. If you're looking for a simplistic game, this may scratch that itch, but make sure you get it on sale.
