About
DEEP ROCK GALACTIC: ROGUE CORE is a spinoff of Deep Rock Galactic with a roguelite twist. The roguelite element means you start each mission with only the most basic equipment, and cooperatively build up powers, weapons and abilities as you go. Each run requires you to think on your feet and work with your team to put together the most powerful builds you can.

All deep mining operations on Hoxxes have suddenly gone dark. An enormous transient disturbance has cut off all contact with our dig sites. Ever since The Grayout, nothing gets in or out.
The Deep Rock Galactic Corporation needs our mining facilities secured and operational immediately. Conventional measures don’t seem to be working.
That’s why we’re sending in the Reclaimers.

The Reclaimers are Deep Rock Galactic’s elite security force. Planetary mining is a dangerous business, after all. The pickaxe is a noble tool, but there are times when it must become a weapon.
Throughout the years, the Company has called on the Reclaimers when a situation requires a little applied force. When negotiations aren’t an option. When all else fails.
Join the Reclaimers and experience a new arsenal of advanced weaponry, cutting-edge equipment and experimental biomedical enhancements available only to the Company’s finest.
Find out why the Reclaimers get sent in when nobody else can do the job.

We’re sending you down to the lowest depths the Company has ever reached. These subterranean landscapes are largely uncharted territory. We’re counting on you to gather critical intel on these extreme environments close to the planet's core.
The Grayout Barrier disables most of our technology on contact, so you’ll be heading in with only your pickaxe. You’ll have to scrounge any weapons and equipment you can find within the mining facility, and craft enhancements by harvesting the wunder-mineral Expenite.

You’ll need to rely on your wits and weaponry. Collect guns, gear and personal upgrades along the way, and wield your game-changing Reclaimer Gauntlers in the heat of battle. Build your arsenal on the fly, experiment with lethal new combinations and get stronger as you go.
Down here, swift decisions and unflinching force are your keys to survival. Fight through the mines and pacify any resistance you may encounter. Time is of the essence – the longer you stick around, the higher the pressure.
You’ll be deployed in teams of four operatives, and close cooperation is essential. Work together, or die alone.

The inhospitable depths of Hoxxes are home to a horrific new class of creature: the Corespawn. We don’t know much about them, but one thing is certain: these creatures are more aggressive, resilient and intelligent than anything we’ve encountered before.
Management considers the Corespawn to be a critical threat to our continued operations. Confront and dispatch them with extreme prejudice.
Coming back alive is only the beginning. Build, upgrade, and master your craft to make your Reclaimer a legend of the deep.
Extensive class customization, character progression, endless build combinations and infinite depths of procedurally-generated caves make for limitless mayhem.
No two missions are alike – Dive, dig, and dive again.

Think you’ve got what it takes to brave the depths? Wishlist Rogue Core and contact a local Reclaimers recruiting station today.

All the criers wanted a DRG 2 and got something different that LOOKS like DRG. It's different. And it's good that it's different. I wish it wasn't, because I enjoyed the elements that made DRG great. I enjoy RC as well (maybe not as much but still do). Most importantly, I want to give the devs a chance.
I give a thumb up out of the need to balance a bit on the negatives and to first and foremost reassert that this game still has the EA excuse for the time being. Give it time, it will get better just as the original DRG did. We already have a clean game experience with next to zero bug, 4 new classes of dwarves , each very fun to play, lots of new wacky voicelines, a fine Roguelike feature coming with the satisfaction of an OP build and indecent DPS by the end of the run, although it can get a bit antagonistic at times when picking perks and weapons without speaking to your team mates BUT, I nonetheless have to agree with the current downsides who's been pointed out. For a 30$ at launch, the current content is very much lacking in content in the main course of a run. I mean, every floor plays the same way with the exact same objective : find the elevator, defend the elevator. And at the end of it, a boss picked among 3. This is like having a single type of mission in DRG. It begs for twists, different main objectives and such. Even the main timer a la Risk of Rain needs more refining (and nerf) I'm confident it will get better, and I'm having a blast with my pals, but don't get it if you expect the same content depth as DRG. Right now they're only scratching the surface

Even with a somewhat interesting launch, Rouge Core has been a wonderful time for me. Truth be told I didn't play the base game a whole lot and only got the game to play with my drg-headed friend. Now however, i now almost everything about the game, have all the achievements and have more hours than my friends combined, and it was worth it. Overall, the game actually isn't too much of a rougelite as winning a run can be determined from the beginning, like getting slicers best bio booster early which can solo a D-4 run. I don't think of this as a bad thing however as it almost makes the game its own type of rougelite where rather than snowball, you fish for a win condition which can both make the experience easier, or harder. I think the characters however, is one of the most consistent things of the game that the devs did really well. Not only are there more choices than the base game but they are all extremely balanced in my opinion. Each class has a very high chance to perform well in runs as long as the player understands how they work. Of course they aren't fully equal as classes like Slicer and Guardian have abilities that can overperform consistently, but that doesn't mean the others can't. Also female dwarves in drg is a very welcome addition The game is fun, just like the base game, but the gameplay is still very different between the two, especially the pacing. I recommend, especially for base game players, even if online discussion has you think otherwise.

ROCK AND STONE!
really fun game. it is challenging, has good pacing and that good ol drg humor mixed in. don't listen to the cry babies thinking this is a different type of game than it really is. the game pushes you to hurry up and punishes you for taking too long..this is a core element and there are mechanics designed around it. missions take quite some time to complete (30-60ish minutes), the game is very playable in its current state although it is very young in its early access arc, so keep that in mind.
