About
Deep Enough is a cozy first-person mining game where every swing of the pickaxe reveals a little more of the world. Beneath an ordinary patch of grass lies an entire underworld of veins, caverns, and legendary ores — it's up to you to dig deep enough to find them.
- Fully deformable terrain — every pickaxe strike reshapes the ground for real, powered by a signed-distance-field (SDF) system that carves the world voxel by voxel.
- 7 ores to discover — coal, tin, copper, iron, silver, gold, and the mythical violet Altarite with properties no one fully understands.
- An interactive smelter — refine your raw ore into high-value ingots. Each ore takes a different smelt time and coal cost.
- An upgradable workbench — invest your earnings with Joss for stronger pickaxes, dynamite, and to unlock new depth tiers.
- Consumables with real buffs — pizza, soda, cola: every snack grants a temporary boost (mining speed, agility, jump height). Eat them on the spot or carry them out to throw.
- Dynamic day / night cycle — procedural atmospheric scattering, birds chirping on the surface, oppressive silence deep below.
- Built-in lo-fi radio — turn on the workbench radio and skip tracks while you chip away at the rock.
1. Surface — collect surface ores, eat a slice of pizza, kick off your first smelt batch.
2. Underground — buy a better pickaxe, dive 50m, 100m, 500m. Every tier reveals rarer veins.
3. Deep biomes — explore lower zones where the air thins and Altarite faintly glows.
4. Workshop — return to Joss with a full bag, sell, refine, gear up, dive deeper.
- A gameplay loop that's instantly satisfying — dig, collect, sell, upgrade, repeat.
- A stylized look between cartoon and realism — easy on the eyes, great for streaming and screenshots.
- No combat — this is a game about progression and discovery, not stress. Perfect for unwinding after work.
- No ads, no microtransactions. You buy it, you play it.
- Fully rebindable controls.
- Built-in noclip via the debug menu for explorers and content creators.
- Automatic local saves.

Fun, not a lot of content but promising mining game
It is just digging through dirt to collect coal and some ore to then sell for stronger pick, and yet I couldn't tell the difference between before and after upgrade, also it is all just dirt, I dug all the way to the bottom, to each side of the border, I've dug and dug and dug, and found nothing but dirt, idk why the steam page talks about other biomes or whatever, it's just dirt. 2.2/10, very boring, and pretty often when try getting back out you will 'die from falling too far' despite you jumping up from ledge to ledge
Very nice game I recommend it

Definitely a solid concept, still some bugs throughout though. However, as it has only been recently released, that makes sense. The primary bug I encountered was with menus not closing. Typically, in games, if you want to close a menu, you hit ESC or the same button you used to open it. However, in this game, the menu stays up even if you walk away. Pressing ESC only brings up the main ESC menu over top of the current screen, regardless of if you are in another menu already. Pressing the same key does nothing. And if you click off of the menu, you can't hit the X anymore to close it, you have to go back to the object, interact with it without being able to see what you are doing due to the menu, and then hit the X to close. The other bug I've noticed is that the digging mechanic is exact. If you point and dig, it digs exactly there. This means that there can be a one pixel sized piece of dirt or grass blocking your path, which is frustrating to try and located to remove. I think a solution would be some kind of check run when the digging action is initiated, to make sure there are no pieces of X size or smaller that are left behind. It is very frustrating. Other than those two things, the sound design is great, the digging mechanic works pretty well for the most part, and it's pretty intuitive with how far I've gotten, even though there is no tutorial of any kind that I've seen so far.
