About
Deck and Conn is a retro-inspired, single-player turn-based tactics game where you command a Cold War-style nuclear corvette — in space. Set fifteen minutes into the future of 1989, the game blends pixel-art aesthetics with tactical depth, drawing from classics like early MicroProse titles and the original Super Star Trek mainframe game.
Lead your crew through an endless war in deep space. Respond to distress calls, upgrade your systems, capture enemy ships, and rise through the ranks. Each decision you make — from combat strategy to crew management — shapes your ship’s legacy.
Whether you're navigating a full dynamic campaign or facing tightly designed standalone missions, Deck and Conn challenges you to survive, adapt, and command with precision.

This game could have been released in the 80s/90s and be a legend today. This is a small indie game ( 15 ish hours ), two-woman made game ! You're in command of a small ship in a hostile space, and you see everything from your instrument. You have to manage your reactor, your torpedos, your railguns, your emissions and everything in between. If you like chill layback game, but need some bit of involvement and technological knowhow, this is the right place. There's a manual that you really really should read before jumping in. Do not be afraid of the first tutorial mission and get in the command, because once you have some mastery, this is where you can start some small missions which complete the tutorials, and then jump in the campaign The campaign is 6 consecutive patrols and is the meat of the game. At the beginning, you're undermanned, unexperienced, underarmed and underequipped, so you have to choose your fights very carefully, hide in the shadows, and try to understand exactly how to meet the criteria of finishing your mission. Once you complete a few patrols, you'll have requisition, which is a credit which will allow you to upgrade your ship and then you can impose yourself in more patrols against tougher oponents. I'm halfway through the campaign, things start to be a tad repetitive but I'm knee deep in 90s scifi space bonanza !

Scratches just the right turn-based tactics itch. Happy chunky graphics and brings me some basic joy working my way down checklists. There are a couple of rough bits in v1. Some of the terms used don't match the interface, and so working down the checklists the first few times is frustrating. If there's something that explains what everything does, I haven't found it yet. (I know what FTL is, but what are MAGS and CIWTS? Tip: Sound general quarters with the big chonky GQ switch on the bottom center.) And I'm still figuring out what it clickable on the interfaces. Having the mouse cursor indicate clickability would be great.
This is a really good addictive game but it really needs a save option in the middle of the campaign
I mean, I'll write a more in-depth review when I'm deep into D&C but I must say, after 70 minutes and moving through the well done tutorial, it's a blast. I am fully engaged and it scratches all the retro itches (was a huge EGA Trek fan) while providing some very nice additions to the experience. I know there's a lot I haven't even seen or done yet, but yeah. Going to spend some serious gaming time with this little beauty. Cheers to the devs.
Fun little game for the price. Hopefully the dev can stick with it and make more content, it is a little light on that. More ships, more to do would be nice.
The game is a love letter to the games of the early 1980s, and that's awesome. The campaign could use a bit more depth, which will hopefully be resolved in future updates.

Deck & Conn is a phenomenal space adventure title with gameplay as compelling and unique as its art and controls…and I’ve barely scratched the surface. This is an almost tactile computer game, and and there is more strategic depth than meets the eye. Turn-based strategy players, Star Trek/Star Control fans, and anyone who prefers toggles and switches to touch screens would enjoy. If you’re even remotely interested, buy it. Dev is engaged and new updates keep coming.
Pretty good game, immersive and fun despite the graphics and easy to learn One bug I've noticed is that upon being destroyed the loss message has ''CEN (ship_name)'' instead of the actual name of the ship, and the terminal turns black with no way to return to the menu forcing you to forcefully close the game. But aside from that it is a lovely game, wish the campaign had more or that we could play as other ships like gunboats or destroyers.
