(I purchased this game via Saikey's site about a day before the announcement that it would be released on Steam. Saikey was kind enough to gift me a copy on Steam as I had already purchased it elsewhere.) I will divide my review into three parts: Pros, Cons, and Final Opinion. Pros: First and foremost, the quality of the translation. Saikey Studios specializes in NTR content and it shows. The text of the game is lovingly translated and with great attention to the nuance of the characters, conveying not only the technical content of the game but also the voices of the characters, complete with the intensity of the emotion. The written sound effects so common to Japanese H-games are kept to a merciful minimum, improving the impact of the scenes. Beyond the technical quality of the writing, the art is excellent too. Nanami's design is gorgeous, as are the CGs of the various events that befall her. While the "sensor app" is something of a cliche, I greatly enjoyed the other cellphone functionality offered in the game, namely the various social media feeds the player can snoop on. The minigames were not overly challenging, and so enjoyment of the game was not greatly hindered by their inclusion. Cons: While the technical skill of the localization and translation team is self-evident, the raw material is somewhat dubious, in my opinion. To elaborate on this statement, I have two broad complaints: The character decisions make no sense, and the choices offered by the game make no sense. Bluntly put, the characters are pants on head dumb. I realize that this is a factor of the genre, to a certain extent, and necessary to help along the plot, but their decisions really make very little sense to me. This confusion is exacerbated by the structure of the handful of inflection points scattered along the length of the game's plot. The choices are often deceptive, or at least the text of the choice does not appear to correlate very well with the actions the character takes. In a few instances, the action selected in the choice is not executed, which frustrated me greatly as the outcome of the choice seemed identical to the probable outcome of the other choice. In other words, it feels as if the choices are somewhat illusory as the plot railroads along. Final opinion: This is a sexy game and the translation is top-notch. Lots of fun dialogue, degradation, etc. Don't go looking here for a particularly revolutionary story, or a particularly memorable heroine. That said, if you simply want a fun, Engrish-free, MTL-free NTR game, I recommend Deceived by the Host for you.
