DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue – A Hidden Gem Worth Revisiting

A Childhood Classic Full of Charm
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue was one of those games from my childhood that left a strange but unforgettable impression. It’s quirky, colorful, and totally bizarre—in the best way. Coming back to it years later feels like finding an old comic book you loved as a kid. The humor, the cartoonish art style, and the ridiculous dialogue all hit the same notes they did back then. For anyone who played it growing up, it's a nostalgic ride full of laughs and strange memories.
Don’t Judge It Too Quickly – It Has Its Own Flavor
At first glance, it might look like just another hack-and-slash RPG with silly jokes, but if you don’t judge it too quickly, there’s a surprising amount to enjoy. The game doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It leans fully into its weird world, over-the-top weapons, and absurd characters. And once you accept that it’s supposed to be weird and lighthearted, it becomes much more enjoyable. If you're willing to give it a chance, you’ll probably find yourself smiling more than you expect.
A Simple Story That Works
The story isn’t complex, and that’s okay. Sometimes it’s nice to play something where you don’t have to keep track of ten plotlines and a thousand lore entries. The goal is straightforward: help DeathSpank collect the legendary Thongs of Virtue while battling ridiculous enemies and doing favors for equally ridiculous NPCs. It may be silly, but there’s something relaxing about a game that just lets you have fun and follow a goofy but focused storyline from beginning to end.
Fun Combat and Progression
The gameplay is easy to pick up, with satisfying combat and a good mix of weapons, armor, and upgrades to play around with. You’ll find everything from machine guns to swords to chicken cannons (yes, really), and the gear you collect often adds to the humor of the game. The balance between action and exploration is solid, and the side quests, though often silly, are fun to complete. It’s a game you can enjoy without stress—perfect after a long day or when you just want something light and entertaining.
Final Thoughts
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue may not be the most polished or serious RPG, but that’s not what it’s trying to be. It’s a lighthearted, cartoonish adventure that isn’t afraid to be weird—and that’s exactly why it stands out. For those of us who played it growing up, it's a funny and nostalgic journey. And for new players, it’s a great reminder that sometimes, a simple and silly game is all you need to have a good time. Give it a try—you might be surprised how much fun you’ll have.

Bom RPG sobre cuecas. Combate divertido e história engraçada. Vale a pena!
save files gets corrupted, never patched, 6.4 hours down the drain

Never knew this game even existed until my friends starter reminiscing about the games they used to play. They tried for few minutes to remember what this games name was and were laughing when they did and the things they remembered from it. So it was on sale and I bought it and dam. 14 hours to 100% the game and I feel like I need to get the original DeathSpank. The game doesnt feel bloated and the way the quests and the map is designed you really don't miss out on anything in your playtrough. Solid gameplay, I liked the graphics a lot. If you are looking for something that you can just pick and play get this, yes it's older, yes it's EA but I never run in to bugs or glitches and it doesn't require origin to run. Good game to just pick and play for a while then come back to it when you feel like it.
Another romp of misadventure through a kingdom to bring about the second coming of justice. Art style and humour are still quite fun. Would recommend if you were a fan of the first. Game length can feel a little dragged out as there are obstacles constantly coming up thwarting you crusade, but that is part of the humour.
excellent jeux de hack and slash. Très bonne suite du premier jeu.
Веселая
Soooo. When I went to launch it initially, it crashed. No big. After an hour of game play, it crashed. The game doesn't appear to be imported very well. When I have it in full screen, if I switch windows it makes every other window on my PC spaz out. I put it on window mode but it doesn't even have the standard screen resolution as an option. Battle is weird, you have to click on the actual enemy to hit them, not proximity. It doesn't work at all with xbox controller even though the store page says it should at least partially. Like it full on doesn't recognize the controller. All in all, a very amusing game but I wouldn't recommend it strictly based on the glitches, crashes and poor import. =(
