Deathbloom: Chapter 2

If you enjoyed the first game then you really should finish the story. There are fewer open environments and it does feel more linear but the environments are detailed and more varied. Also, there are new weapons to use for added content. The conclusion of the game was satisfying (whichever ending you get) and coming to the end of my experience I am glad I bought these games. Vincent is for sure talented, has vision, and a nack for telling a story. I would recommend this series, especially when on sale.

Enemies take too much life from you, no medikits and life does not go back to the next level, from mid-game it becomes frustrating and very unbalanced. Game not recommended for non expert players.

Empfehlenswert: Ja (persönliche Wertung: 6/10) Errungenschaften: Ja Positiv: - Grafik sieht gut aus - düstere Atmosphäre - guter Sound - annehmbare Rätsel - Story gut - Ausreichend Action Negativ: - Keine Sprachausgabe - 1 Spiel in 2 Spiele gepackt - Feinde wiederholen sich - Ende so unzufrieden machend Fazit: Ich werde hier die Rezension von Deathbloom: Chapter 1 + 2 zusammenfassen, da es meiner Meinung nach ein Spiel ist, was unnötigerweise in 2 Spiele verpackt wurde (Chapter 1: über 4 Stunden; Chapter 2: 2,5 Stunden = ca. 7 Stunden Spielzeit). Das Spiel ist nur auf Englisch, aber für mich ist das kein Problem! Die Story an sich ist leicht zu verfolgen und einigermaßen gut. Das meiste davon erfährt man durch lesen von Briefen. Eine Sprachausgabe von den Personen (gut so viele sind ja auch nicht da) gibt es nicht. Leider sind die 2 alternativen Enden nicht so zufrieden stellend wie erhofft. Da der Macher dieses Spiels von einigen anderen Horrorgames inspiriert wurde, hat man dadurch einiges schon einmal gesehen (besonders zu sehen bei den Rätseln). Dennoch wird man in eine beklemmende und düstere Atmosphäre gezogen (auch dank der guten Grafik) und rechnet hinter jeder Ecke mit dem Bösen. Durch die Geräusche die man hört, wird diese Atmosphäre nur verstärkt. Die Feinde hierbei sind nicht gerade abwechslungsreich, aber es reicht schon um mal kurz einen Schreck (OMG, wo kommt der denn auf einmal her) zu bekommen. Chapter 2 ist ein wenig mehr auf Action aus als Chapter 1, weshalb man da merkt das es den beiden Spielen besser getan hätte nur ein Spiel zu sein. Trotzdem ist das Spiel gelungen und ich gebe da gerne einen Daumen nach oben. Empfehlenswert!!!!

I reiterate: very good game. With so much crap of independent production on Steam, this game is a golden nugget! I really hope it will continue, because it has a future!

The story and mood is pretty good, you get a few scares when something comes for you out of the dark hallways of the manor (or when something comes after you and you're out of ammo and you try to remember the way out)

6-6-26 Played chapter 2 .. same as a lot of the games I have played recently ..' The tried and true, horror walking sim. This game has good graphics and interesting mechanics. Fun.

To be honest, there was no reason to split the story into two different games, but I guess it was probably easier for the developer that way. Also – more money. [b]Part 2[/b] is slightly more focused on puzzles and includes some fun gameplay mechanics. It's not much, but I enjoyed the attempt to do a few things differently, thanks to a better understanding of Unity, I guess. The mansion is still the main playground, but extended to some degree – this time, we're going deeper into this madhouse and exploring new areas offering distinct environments. A light breeze of fresh air. No pun intended. Besides that, nothing new about your weapons or foes. The difficulty has been toned up, but overall, [b]Chapter 2[/b] remains a very entry-level survival horror. The story is nothing groundbreaking, but it's serviceable enough to keep the player engaged, and its conclusion is satisfying for what it is. Final verdict? I'd ask myself why I didn't buy a much better survival horror if I had to pay full price for both chapters, but as I said, the whole story cost me a cup of coffee — and not a Starbucks one — so... I had a good time during the few hours I spent playing [b]Deathbloom[/b]!
