Yet another certified banger from Vincent Lade. This game is much shorter than the first though, and you need to play the first to understand the second because the second begins in media res. So, buy this game in a bundle with the first. I highly recommend it when it goes on sale. It's very fun indie horror shooter stuff, you can't go wrong with it.
Just look at my review for Chapter 1. You really should just play both and consider it all one game. Deathbloom is great though, worth playing!
I especially like classic gothic horror and the occult. Gameplay was great. Two endings was a good choice. The graphics and enemies still had bugs. Once again, a voice acting would have been good.

great game
This really didn't need to be two games because they're nearly identical. The first game was longer, more varied and had more of an exploration aspect. This one is extremely linear and has more of an emphasis on combat. There are a couple decent puzzles but you are mostly just running around and shooting things before they kill you. You pretty much have to play the first game to know what's going on as it picks up exactly where the first game left off. The only issue with the combat is that when you are shooting enemies there is no damage to the enemy models so it feels cheap and artificial. There are several different guns and they all handle differently. I died about 20 times because I was trying to conserve ammunition, but then the game just abruptly ends when it seems like you're at the halfway mark. A little disappointing, but still playable.
Note: If you're reading this, you may want to read what I had to say about Chapter 1 first, if you haven't already. Click to read. So, here's Deathbloom: Chapter 2, which was released less than a year after the first game, and is also the last chapter of this short story. To be honest, there was no reason to split the story into two different games, but I guess it was probably easier for the developer that way. Also – more money. Part 2 is slightly more focused on puzzles and includes some fun gameplay mechanics. It's not much, but I enjoyed the attempt to do a few things differently, thanks to a better understanding of Unity, I guess. The mansion is still the main playground, but extended to some degree – this time, we're going deeper into this madhouse and exploring new areas offering distinct environments. A light breeze of fresh air. No pun intended. Besides that, nothing new about your weapons or foes. The difficulty has been toned up, but overall, Chapter 2 remains a very entry-level survival horror. The story is nothing groundbreaking, but it's serviceable enough to keep the player engaged, and its conclusion is satisfying for what it is. Final verdict? I'd ask myself why I didn't buy a much better survival horror if I had to pay full price for both chapters, but as I said, the whole story cost me a cup of coffee — and not a Starbucks one — so... I had a good time during the few hours I spent playing Deathbloom!
I satisfying conclusion to the story begun in Chapter 1. This chapter is a little shorter than the first but it's more action-packed with combat playing a more prominent role. The line between hallucination and reality are very blurred in this installment but the narrative remains compelling. If you enjoyed Chapter 1 then you'll will enjoy this conclusion too.
I loved playing DeathbloomChapter 1 and 2. The mansion is creepy as hell. The fact that you can't go back, when leaving a map is a nice concept. It bonds you more with the game, looking for every detail and searching every corner in order to miss nothing usefull.
