Death Row Escape

Death Row Escape je krátká hra od malého studia SEGS. Myslel jsem, že si dobře zastřílím podle video traileru proti emzákům, na to sice došlo, ale hra stěžuje hráčovi život otravnými pastmi a ne moc inteligentními nepřáteli v podobě černého komanda, kteří vás na pár střel zabijí. Zpočátku se mi zdálo, že můžou střílet i skrze zdi, jak se mi nedařilo před nimi ukrýt, ale reakční doba je opravdu krátká u nich a musíte být rychlí a to nejlépe jednou střelou do hlavy, abyste je zdolali. Emzáci zase zabíjí ihned, jakmile se k vám dostanou, takže je lepší si držet odstup, to ale kolikrát nejde ve stísněných prostorách věznice. Když už si myslíte, že máte vyhráno zabije vás otravné dělo nastražené jako past, potom tam jsou různé gilotiny, kývající koule a dojde i na klesající bodáky, které musíte proběhnout. Po rozhovoru s AI si pár levelů zopakujete až konečně na podruhé můžete opustit smyčku a věznici nechat za vámi. Hra vypadá levně, ani grafika není nejlepší, ale hratelné to je a cenovka odpovídá kvalitě, za to jede plynule a rád jsem podpořil vývojáře další akční hrou. Tento dvouhodinový zážitek doporučuji.

If you are bored and want to kill an hour or so then this game is perfect. I can say I did have a few laughs at a few ridiculous things and I did play it all the way through (can be finished in about an hour) so I can't say it was a negative experience. Id say its worth the $3 or so I paid for it. About the price of a Pepsi Zero.

Came across this game just looking at new games released. I really like it so far. Wish it was more controller friendly but overall a good game

A wonderful game! I really like the classic feel of it and how it also feels new and fresh. The jump scares are well done and the voices are very realistic. The gun mechanics and sound on them too is also very good. And for the price it's really a win win. Try it out!

The hook is simple: survive a facility run by a hostile AI, outsmart mercenaries and experiments, and break a time loop that keeps resetting the board. The execution works because moment-to-moment decisions matter, and the game gives you the information you need to make them. Gunplay has punch without turning the experience into a mindless shooter. Ammo is limited enough to keep you thinking, and accuracy, peeking, and positioning win fights more than raw spray. Stealth is a legit path, not an afterthought: sightlines, noise, and lighting are clear, and using the environment to create openings feels consistently rewarding. The environmental puzzles slot in naturally—routes open, systems power up, doors cycle—so progression feels like a chain of small wins rather than a single opaque lock-and-key. The time-loop setup is the game’s quiet MVP. Failing isn’t a brick wall; it’s data. Each reset nudges you to refine your route, try a different approach, or bait the AI into exposing a weakness. That AI presence gives the levels personality: cameras track, turrets reconfigure, and the pressure ramps up just enough to keep you moving. The first-person “body-cam” vibe sells the danger without sacrificing clarity; UI is minimal but informative. Quality-of-life is solid: quick reloads, fair checkpoints, and stable performance. Controller support is great if you prefer that feel, and the audio mix (footsteps, radio chatter, mechanical hums) does a lot of storytelling on its own. If you like immersive stealth-shooter hybrids with readable systems and a satisfying fail-forward loop, Death Row Escape is absolutely worth your time. Smart tension, clean feedback, and a strong central antagonist make this an easy recommend.

Death Row Escape не запускається на системах без підтримки інструкцій SSE4.2 / AVX, що вбудовані лише у нові процесори. На старіших CPU (як-от Phenom II, Athlon II, Core 2 Duo / Quad) гра просто не стартує. Схоже, рушій Unreal Engine 4 вимагає сучасні інструкції, які не підтримуються старими платформами. Для гравців з такими системами — без шансів. Було б добре, якби розробники додали legacy-режим або оптимізацію під старі CPU, бо інакше гра недоступна цілій аудиторії.
