Man I love this fast paced Cel shaded Cyberpunk shooter, but this guy can show you better than I can tell you. https://youtu.be/-QjE-42MLJY?si=ORXl704xMAGpi9yl
It's fun but very difficult; you have to be an artist at switching weapons, jumping, throwing explosives, preparing food, and going to work all at the same time.
A fantastic first roguelike – with huge co-op potential Deadlink is my first roguelike, and I had a blast. The fast-paced combat, the inputs, and the cyberpunk vibe grabbed me from the start. Even when things got chaotic, I couldn't stop hitting “one more run.” The difficulty – tough but (mostly) fair I won't lie: the difficulty sometimes feels a little unfair. Spikes can hit hard, and certain encounters feel like they’re balanced more for punishment than for learning. But even in those moments, the core fun kept me coming back. Multiplayer potential (2-player would be perfect) This is the part I really want to highlight: Deadlink has serious potential for co-op. Not four players – that would be too messy – but a tight 2-player mode. Two-player co-op would let you combo abilities, revive each other, and share the chaos without turning the screen into a firework factory. And here’s the thing: the difficulty as it stands right now would feel perfectly tuned for two players. The moments that seem a bit too punishing solo would become tense, teamwork-driven highlights instead. A wish, not a complaint I’m not saying the game is incomplete – it’s a great solo experience. But adding an optional 2-player co-op mode (even just as a future update or a DLC) would turn a very good game into an unforgettable one for me and my friends. If you’re new to roguelikes and love high-speed shooters, Deadlink is well worth your time. And devs, if you’re reading this: please, give 2-player co-op a chance. The game’s bones are already built for it.
Very good fps game, with movement and abilities closely ressembling DOOM Eternal. The two first classes obtained are a lot of fun to use but I found the next two to be quite cumbersome especially given how crucial platforming is for the third boss fight. I especially like how the combat loop encourages you to constantly use your abilities and grenades as it is the method used to recover your shields and heavy weapon ammo (again, similar to DOOM Eternal the best way), this makes it much more entertaining than most fps games which just feel like point and click over and over. Where the game falls a bit flat in my opinion is the rogue like aspect as it makes some runs feel artificially difficult or easy, especially on the highest difficulty and during boss fights. All in all an awesome game despite the aforementioned flaw, highly recommended for those who enjoyed Eternal and want something similar (although this game does have far less content so maybe get it on rebate).
Deadlink is a great game with excellent gun play, enemy and boss design and fun map design. OST and voice acting are great, too! Be aware they abandoned this game -very- quickly, however, and the game only has four stages, four bosses and a very limited RNG pool. Because of that options tend to be pretty limited with only a few higher scaling builds per character. Fun game to burn 20 or so hours on, but expensive upfront for it. Wait for it to be on sale and don't expect to find folks to play with you. This was a turn and burn for the studio.
Deadlink delivers a strong gameplay experience during the initial 30 minutes. The game displays simple graphics. You master movement and combat through a specific skill progression path. You defeat enemies easily on lower difficulty settings if you possess experience with fast-paced shooters. Professional players, including Oyff, finish a run in 50 minutes. You will appreciate this game if you enjoy repeating the same map with roguelike difficulty. You should avoid this game if you expect more than four different maps and bosses like Doom Eternal. I added a positive rating because I like the fast-paced setting and the gunplay. I will not achieve 100 percent completion for this game.
