DEAD MAN'S HAND: Card Roulette Action

For transparency, I am friends with one of the developers and played this game during beta testing. However, I purchased the game with my own money and gifted several copies once it released, because I think it’s fun. Dead Man’s Hand is a strategic party/card game based around Russian Roulette. Each turn you play, you have the option to either shoot yourself or turn the gun on another player. Additionally, you have the chance to play two types of cards, turn or trigger cards. Turn cards activate an effect when they’re played, such as swapping all players’ hands or changing the turn order. Trigger cards are played blind and activate when you shoot yourself, or another player shoots at you. Each time you are shot at and survive, an additional card is added to your hand. The path to victory depends on how well you manage the odds while using cards to manipulate them—do you want to go for that 50-50 chance to shoot yourself in the hopes to get a game-changing card to play on your next turn? Or do you want to play aggressively and turn yourself into a target? The game supports online play through Steam with a lobby system. As far as I can, tell there is also fully functional random matchmaking and the ability to play against bots or add bots to games. From the several games I’ve played, I haven’t encountered any major bugs and it ran smoothly on Windows. Ultimately, I think this game is definitely best played with friends and could very easy be slotted into a group game night. At $5, it’s a very fair price to give it a try.

I've honestly been waiting on a game like this for a long time, and this delivers on what I've been wanting. There's enough variation in the gameplay for it to not get boring after a few games. The animations and music are very fun and really set the tone of the game. There are some bugs but nothing that happens often or anything game-breaking. I do hope more content gets added, especially something to use the coins on other than bounties. The only major complaint is that the game doesn't seem to have an offline mode, so if your disconnected at all the game won't start. However, I encourage you to try this game out if you have some buddies to play it with, even if you don't the bots are pretty competent.

AI bot reloads a round for 2/6 chance. Aims at himself. Pulls. Random active card activates. "Bluff". Pregnant pause on dark screen. Head explodes. Decently funny game, another AI bot doing the same but with "Reflect" active card and killing himself back to back from the first. The lack of a player base is a huge negative factor, but the ai bots and game itself is amusing enough for me to play on cool down from more intense games. The cosmetics makes it much easier to differentiate the players. Reflect is a bit too strong but I can't think of any balance critique. Every way you could manipulate the game has a card for it. Maybe a blue card that let's you look at the chamber? Or a Red card that lets you do that next time it's your turn to give some incentive to not use shield or reflect.

This game is very entertaining but its held back purely because not enough people know about it. This game will pop off as soon as a more steady player base gets a hold of it.

Bastante bueno, aunque no innova mucho en estos juegos de ruleta rusa que puso de moda el Buckshot Roulette. Lo nuevo en este es que tiene gráficos 2D pixel art bastante lindos, así como que está basado en cartas. Se puede poner una carta oculta que se activa cuando te disparan, onda cartas trampa de Yugioh. Podes jugar contra bots, tiene lobbys y matchmaking online (claro que con muy pocos jugadores). También se pueden personalizar los colores de los personajes con la moneda del juego. Por el precio me parece bien, probé la demo primero y me convenció. EDIT: Dato importante, con que una persona tenga el juego, los otros pueden entrar a su lobby con el codigo desde la demo.

As someone who is attracted to both robot women and gambling, especially Russian Roulette and card games, this is essentially the best game for me. That's right, I'd recommend it to myself. Idfk who you are why are you asking me? It's like 5€ just get it, play a few rounds, see if you like it.
