Update: I read some of the reviews. The game worked fine for me. No crashes or weird glitches except what I mentioned below. I also use a 3.1m x 3.2m play space and playing was fine. You can move around a little with your body. You can ice skate around to avoid undead. Same with teleport but it is a little harder in that mode. The game runs fine for the most part. My Specs are Intel Core i9-9900k, RTX 2080ti, 32 GB RAM. Smooth as butter. Linear story driven action shooter zombie game that reminds me of Dead Island slightly. The graphics are very good. There are options to ice skate or teleport and adjust snap turning. There are also sound and graphics settings to play with. Make sure when you start your game you are standing and have your headset on or you might be to high up in the air. The only thing that annoyed me besides not being able to run was that there was a lot of getting stuck on objects mainly in buildings and at the doorways and falling through stairs sometimes. You can still use teleport to get out of those situations without going into the menu as one controller still has it active even when ice skating. It was not game breaking but annoying none the less. Overall, I enjoyed what I played so far. Make sure to keep your hand gun. The big guns run out of ammo fast. Shotgun is nice. I made it to about the third area where I think my first boss will be and had a lot of fun. Reserve your ammo and fight smart as health is very scarce. Overall I give this a rating of 8/10. It was better than expected. First game play here if you want to see it. Thanks and enjoy. https://youtu.be/kTyMF8EwG9E?t=1191 Two teaser pics. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1654468640636719837/6BEBFEC70EB73053B95DE9C96BC730A7D34982EE/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1654468640636719316/CF309F20CC39E2277F568076A81FBED039C1F0B6/
wont go past second room, player randomly slides/moves around on its own. cant make game work properly at all. bought because i enjoyed dead groundz arcade but this one was a waste of money.
was hoping 4 house of the dead like game but it didnt get play tested. i can tell cuz i cant complete thanks to constant bugs with the objective markers making it so u cant progress into the story so u get stuck if u do something wrong or out of order but its not clear what to do or where 2 go. sorry but with more time and development this could have ben great but as of now its not worth the money
mein erster eindruck ist sehr gut und erinnert mich stark an dead island aber es hat kein coop

a great game which is very similar to resident evil and it is amazing.
-----English----- Dead GroundZ is one of the many games that have ended up in the "limbo of abandonment". An episodic game that, having failed commercially, was abandoned prematurely by the developers. The game consists of four episodes, corresponding to fairly large maps. The shooting is basic but fun, while the graphics have ups and downs: sometimes it amazes with the details of the enemies, other times it disappoints with some not very defined textures. The problem, however, is that the game has a serious polygonal interpenetration bug and incorrect detection of the player's position. This can create enormous difficulties even just picking up a mission-essential item, or entering a room. I managed to complete all the missions, but I had great difficulties and a lot of good will on my part. I really appreciated the last mission, which also stands out for the fact that it requires the player to solve interesting environmental interaction puzzles. If it weren't for the defects, I would have given the game a rating of 8/10 but in its current state, being extremely relevant bugs and considering that they will never be fixed by the developer, my rating is 4/10: If you have my patience , you will be able to have fun, and maybe you will even start looking for all the collectible figurines. More likely, though, you will uninstall it almost immediately and ask for a refund.
I accidently stumbled over this game i've never heard before. Got it with a 50% discount. But to be honest i wouldn't say it's worth more then the 10 bucks i payed. While i like the ambition the developers do have with this game, the execution is mildly unimpressive. The game is unbalanced and has some weird mechanics. The graphics are meh, but need too much computing power. I play with a RTX 2080 Ti and a HP G2 but can't run it on Ultra because the framerate goes south most of the time. Which doesn't make a big difference because Ultra looks still poor. Snap Turning is badly done, you have to press the joystick and tilt left or right at the same time. That is simply put stupid. Teleporting works the same way except tilting forward. The hitboxes are all over the place, seems to be pure luck if you actually hit or miss. There are a lot of triggered events but they are kinda weird. You look through a window of a house, no Z's visible. Then you open the door and puff there they are. The protagonist sounds nothing like a trained and deadly spec ops but more like a teacher trying to cope what happens and still beeing polite at all cost. In 2016 no one would have said anything but 2021: nope. Beeing able to smoke a cigar while killing Zombies is funny but doesn't sell the rest.
I have never tried an early access VR game before and this being my first I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics are great, but I was a little underwhelmed with the performance when using anything above MED settings. I have a 5.0ghz i9 9900KS with a 3090RTX I hope that the game we see completion, and other things like CO-OP mode get included with the final project. There are also some times where the camera changes (bridge scene) and I almost fell on my ass. There has to be a better way to transition these scenes. I will recommend this project to my friends, as I think there is a hidden gem in here.
