This is the first movie to be released in theaters and in VR on the same day. In the experience you are inside the "infected" lair. With every chapter you unlock, you get a weapon used in the movie. The movie stars Johnny Strong (FAST AND FURIOUS, BLACK HAWK DOWN), Lance Henriksen (ALIEN, TERMINATOR).

Somewhat misleading title but overall a decent experience. Maybe I had higher expectations or didn't read everything clearly. I thought this would be a VR movie like I was inside the movie. Instead, you just sit in a warehouse and watch the movie projected like in a movie theater. You can pick up a pistol and shoot at the screen, ect. However, the movie picture is really clear and the story is pretty good. $2 for 10 minutes of movie is pretty steep, though. Maybe if you buy the whole movie for $20 it would be worth it. *Edit* After reading the developer's response about the movie also being released at the same time in theaters, I do think the $20 is a fair price when purchasing all the chapters together. I do still recommend it if you are not expecting a 360* "in the movie" viewing experience.
The "VR Edition" its just too much of a title for a trailer that takes ages to load and a "scene" thats just some crates, bottles and a gun to shoot them. Not even one zombie appears. Seems that its more worth to see this at the cinema rather than here. Hope it improves in the future.

I really hope this becomes a thing in the future. Why? 1. This is actually a very good price for a newly released movie alone. 2. It comes with it's own theme based cinema which also has dust floating around. 3. It comes with guns from the movie. You can shoot the screen, bottles and boxes while watching the movie. Imagine if the next Avengers movie was released in VR at the same time it is released in cinemas. It comes with it's own themed cinema and you have Captain America's shield, Thor's hammer, Ironman's tech and so on. I really hope that more of these will appear on steam and a big shout out to the guys and gals who made this VR experience available. Hopefully many will follow. I want you to buy this for two reasons. 1. It is well worth the money. You are buying an entire movie at this low price and it comes with extras. 2. If it does well, more will follow. Let's make this happen!
it's just a zombie movie on a big screen inside of VR.
ok well, I watched the entire thing. The movie was kinda... not bad. It wasn't anything that's going to be put up for an oscar, being a pretty blunt action/thriller. The acting was pretty solid, and most of the characters were likeable. Johnny Strong, the lead actor in this movie, is a pretty talented guy. I noticed after seeing the opening credits that he also wrote, composed, and performed all of the music in the movie. Pretty cool stuff for a guy I'd never heard of until today. Even the last song which sounds like a Soundgarden song is written and performed by him. Anyhow, the movie clocked in at 110 minutes, leaving me time to refund it if I were so inclined. I won't be doing that, however, as the entire project seems like it was made with care, and not some VR cash grab. Don't go into this expecting a summer blockbuster. Expect more of an idie flick with plenty of nods to 80's action movies. If you're into that sort of thing, this movie should serve you just fine, and you can play with all the guns from the movie before, during, or after the movie is done.
This is just a movie trailer that you watch on a virtual flat screen in a virtual warehouse. There is no "game". It's barely an experience. You can pick up a gun and fire it, but there is nothing to shoot at. I kept waiting for a zombie to appear, but none ever do. Very confusing. This wasn't worth the time to download.
Is the demo worth the price (free)? Yes. Is the whole package worth $13? If you like the movie, yes. Also if you like to watch movies with a firearm in your lap, then also yes. (Although I would advise you seek psychiatric help ASAP if this is the case). It's kinda fun to shoot bottles while you watch a movie. The screen and environment are also very good. Then again there are a lot video viewing apps for the Vive. Definately download the demo. If you like the preview then buy all the chapters, it's not a big deal either way.
Yes it is a movie. It looks great. You can unlock weapons buy purchasing the chapters and then shoot up the room. You get a Colt .45 for watching the trailer for free. You can unlock Frank Hill's Colt with Pearl Grips by buying Chapter 1. Other unlockable weapons - Glock, Beretta, Sawed off shotgun, Kalash and M14. FYI - The Steam movie is cheaper on Steam than buying on iTunes. Nice
Ceci n'est pas un jeu mais des films a payer (1.99 euro l,épisode x10 ) pour les voir sur un écran dans une salle en mode vr ...
Sadly, the Titel is misleading. This is just a VR - Cinema where you stand in front of a screen and some barrels and gasbottles in the back to shoot at, which is nicely made, loads up very fast and is quite the ambience for the movie. The price for the movie is very good, picture quality is good ( As good as it can be on a VR-HMD, but I'd love to have a real In-Movie Experience. 5/10 Stars
