Day D: Tower Rush

Steam is a huge ripoff. Bought this game for nostalgic reasons but only 2 levels are accessible. The other 2 levels are locked even after completing the 2 levels available in all 3 versions - easy, medium and hard. Don't use steam!

I do not consider myself a master at many things, but having played this game off and on over the last 10 years (as an internet game), I think ive learned everything you can know about this game. I've really enjoyed the simplicity, detailed animation, and diversity of environments that it brings to tower defense games. Ive beaten the full web version a couple dozen times, and each time Ive tried to approach the game differently to understand the mechanics a little more and master particularly difficult waves (Example: not allowing the second wave of Level 2 of time mayhem to make it past the first bend at the top). The steam version is different than the web version (waves behave slightly different, hit point values as well), you get 3X more upgrade resources with the easy/medium/hard options on steam, and I will say that in both versions many upgrades are a waste of time and a trap for using precious upgrade points. Lowering Tower Cost and Fossil resource tower utilization and performance is critical, and the biggest breakthrough for me was realizing how impressive drum towers are when you have 6+ on a map (especially for tower range). I encourage anyone reading this to upgrade these stats (but not resource tower speed) and the game will become much easier. Its a nice game to pass the time with, and if you are into tower defense like me then its one of the best IMO. I wish they added new worlds, and that the steam version didnt count the ice age and time mayhem as DLC, but the game is good.

I cut my first Tower Defense gaming teeth on this game so of course I recommend it! The graphics are awesome (yes, seriously), the pace, variation in maps and levels, the SFX sound, music, characters, and challenge all equal a good, casual gaming experience and replay value. It's a fun TD game and creatively produced, yet incredibly inexpensive.... so what can anyone want in this life for entertainment that costs less than a cup of coffee~!?
