This is the best Kaiju game I ever played. Really fun game and art style is very cool comic like.

A fun setup for a game with a unfortunately annoying score and reward system. The fact that there are so many enemies that put themselves in unhitable states, and if you don't hit something for 4 seconds your score suffers, and your score is how you unlock character advancement, is not fun. Add this to things spawning off screen and if you killed enemies too quickly you will be penalized for not having anything around you to hit is not great. The defense system is fun, the boosts are fun, the general combat is fun. It's just the scoring system that I dislike and if it wasn't attached to ability advancement even that wouldn't bother me. However, since they are tied it really pulls a lot of the enjoyment out of the game for me.
its pretty good
If you like Kaiju's then this is an interesting one because there is rarely one that's a beat em up. Most of these types are usually 1 on 1 fighting games or a simulator. Then you have games like Rampage where you destroy cities. The only one I can think of that was remotely a Kaiju beat em up was King of the Monster 2. And you could barely classify that. What makes this game interesting is that there is no jump button. The monsters move slow and lethargic. So it plays a lot slower then most beat em ups. But that's not a bad thing as it's something you would already imagine. The big human and robot characters move a little quicker and have faster attacks. Pros 1. There is a decent amount of moves in the game and each characters plays pretty differently. 2. The augments are random generated and base on level performance. You can pick to help build up your characters and play style. 3. You get 3 rage attacks and each character gets a powerful cataclysm attack. 4. You can unlock a number of cool color palettes by selling augments you don't use. 5. The story is interesting enough with some plot twist and you get to learn more about the nephilim. Cons 1. Aside from the ships "sunrise" theme I don't think any of the game soundtrack is interesting or rememberable. 2. Not enough game modes even after the DLC contents. Training mode is extremely basic. 3. Many of the enemies are damage sponges. They take a lot of hits to go down and in some cases you feel overwhelmed so it almost feel like you are just trying to grind through the game. 4. You can't grab enemies and throw them. One feature that was strangely omitted. 5. Cell shaded graphics are nice especially with the character and enemy designs, but backgrounds leave a lot to be desire.
Why does it feel impossible to play with a controller?? Changes the whole mapping for no reason.
A pretty enjoyable kaiju beat em up. You can choose between 5 characters (I think the fifth is from the DLC) that fall into kaiju/tokusatsu tropes: Aegis Prime, the Ultraman-type hero; Tempest Galahad, the... I guess Gundam-type mecha; Ganira and Megadon, the two Godzilla-type kaiju; and the fifth (DLC?) character, Meteor Temujin, the Megazord-type. Each character's attacks play a little differently from one another. You have a power-up gauge to do special attacks and also a super attack; you can pick up buildings to use as throwable objects. Also, you can execute enemies for a health boost when they are in a weakened flashing-red state. Each character can be equipped with up to three stats-changing perks, and you'll gain more to change your characters load outs as you play, along with currency that can be spent to change character skins. Levels/Cities are broken up into stages, with each feeling like a little arena. You are graded on your combo performance fighting each wave of enemies in the stages. And you can revisit past stages for practice and to gain more cash and equips.
