'[i]Date With a Girl: Mahjong[/i]' is a simple puzzle game where you connect two identical images to one another in order to eliminate them and clear the board. The premise is as simple as every other "Adult" game on [i]Steam[/i] and has the most basic thought process put in it during development. And I put the word "Adult" in quotes because the game has nothing provocative at all. The absolute closest thing to [i]adult content[/i] you get is that the female to the right of the screen strips down to a bra and panties in the last two levels and that's it. The game is not hard in the least bit and can be finished in less than 10 minutes. It's not a completely boring concept but the game is so basic and easy that it becomes boring. If you're easily amused by even the most basic of puzzles, this one can provide you with [i]some[/i] form of amusement but not a dollars worth and most [b]definitely[/b] not $14.49 CAD worth. Also, if a game has positive reviews that are obviously fake, that should be more than enough to avoid the game without even looking at it altogether.

Now setting the absolute lie of the game being "Adult Only" aside, how does one exactly play '[i]Date With a Girl: Mahjong[/i]'? Well if you think it's like the classic style of Mahjong where you play with 144 tiles against 4 other players to form specific pairs, you'd be sadly wrong. Unfortunately, all it is is linking two images together given they can form a path to one another creating no more than 3 corners. This means the path can turn directions no more than two times before reaching the other card, otherwise the two images in question will not disappear. There has to be a clear path in order for the link to work which is extremely easy to figure out. You're also given 5 hints and board shuffles to help you out but in all honesty, you don't need any of it cause the game is just [b]that[/b] easy.
There are only 10 levels in the entire game and nothing about each one changes aside from the background and sometimes the girl's clothing. The puzzles follow the same format and do not get progressively harder or anything. You're essentially playing the same exact thing 10 times before the game abruptly ends, giving you a laughable "[i]You are true Casanova[/i]" ending quote as well as failing to satisfy your lustful desires.
Seriously, they couldn't even write up a sentence that short without a mistake and honestly, I was expecting at least some form of adult nudity. Stripping down to just a bra and underwear is not enough for a game to be deemed "Adult Only". '[i]Date With a Girl: Mahjong[/i]' is a very clear example of a deceptive game set out to bait those looking for a game with suggestive content. In addition to that, I don't think the developer understands that being called a "[i]Casanova[/i]" is not a good thing. It's essentially a fancy way of saying "pimp" or "playa", where a man has many lovers and is seen as disloyal. But I suppose it depends on how you look at it.
The title gives off the impression that you're out here on a date with this girl when in reality, you're just playing a ridiculously easy puzzle while a mute girl stares at you for 10 minutes. There's no character dialogue anywhere in the game and the [i]only[/i] implication that even remotely suggests that you two are on a date is the fact that she changes into a semi-formal outfit and strips down to her last garments of clothing near the end of the game. And even then, you don't get to see her good bits, what a let down.

If I told you that the game actually looks worse than on the store page, would you believe me? Well welcome to '[i]Ripley's Believe It or Go ♥♥♥♥ Yourself[/i]' where we crack down on bad games with bad morals! Joking aside the quality in '[i]Date With a Girl: Mahjong[/i]' really is far worse than it looks on the store page. At first glance, the game at least appears to look decent until you actually observe the pictures closer. They're actually slightly pixelated as the resolution is dumbed down to slightly below average quality and seeing as how this game isn't trying to [i]be[/i] a pixelated game, that just makes it look that much uglier.

There are no sound effects anywhere in the game but there [i]is[/i] music! Just one track that plays throughout the entire game on a loop. It's basically the typical soundtrack you'd hear while reading a visual novel and honestly, that's probably where the developers got it from, in a visual novel or maker of the sorts.

'[i]Date With a Girl: Mahjong[/i]' is a super simplistic puzzle game with the most basic and static gameplay and contains no adult content whatsoever. All you do in the game is create a path between two identical pictures while a girl stares at you, no dialogue is present in the game detracting the entire concept of a "date". The levels do not vary at all and the game can be finished in less time than it takes to bake a potato. And for an asking price of $14,49 CAD? That's gonna be a pass harder than most guys trying to get off while playing this game.
