Reviews
So this is not a full review. This is warning that the VR does NOT work at all. The game works fine on desktop mode but I wasn't interested in playing this game in 2D. I will change my review as soon as the VR works, if it ever works. In the meantime, since it doesn't work I'm NOT recommending. Rating: Incomplete

Увидел цену. Потом всё как в тумане. Очнулся, а она уже куплена. Сижу. Фармлю карточки.
Dashy Square VR is a fast-paced, arcade-styled virtual reality experience that blends precision platforming with rhythm-driven gameplay, created entirely by solo developer and publisher Kastriot Sulejmani. At a time when VR experimentation was still finding its footing, the game set out with a clear and focused goal: translate the intensity of classic reflex-based platformers into an immersive, music-powered VR format. The result is a compact but energetic title that prioritizes speed, timing, and sensory stimulation over narrative or exploration, carving out a niche that feels unapologetically arcade-centric. From the moment gameplay begins, Dashy Square VR establishes its identity through bold simplicity. The player controls a small geometric avatar navigating obstacle-filled tracks that demand quick reactions and near-constant movement. Jumping, dashing, and avoiding hazards all occur in tight synchronization with electronic music tracks, turning each level into a rhythmic gauntlet where success depends on internalizing patterns and anticipating beats. The mechanics are straightforward, but the challenge ramps up quickly, rewarding memorization and muscle memory while punishing hesitation. In VR, this intensity is amplified, as obstacles rush toward the player in a way that feels far more immediate than on a flat screen. The audiovisual presentation is deliberately minimalist yet striking. Neon colors, sharp contrasts, and clean geometric shapes dominate the visual field, evoking a retro arcade atmosphere filtered through modern VR sensibilities. This clarity serves a functional purpose, ensuring that hazards are easily readable even at high speeds, while also reinforcing the game’s rhythm-centric identity. Sound design plays an equally important role, with a large selection of electronic tracks forming the backbone of the experience. Each song shapes the pacing and feel of its corresponding level, making music not just background accompaniment but a core gameplay element that dictates movement and flow. One of the most notable aspects of Dashy Square VR is how it uses virtual reality primarily as a tool for immersion rather than complexity. The VR perspective places the player directly within the action, increasing tension and heightening awareness of spatial relationships. While the game does not rely heavily on motion controls or elaborate VR interactions, the sense of presence alone adds weight to every jump and dash. This design choice keeps the experience accessible while still benefiting from VR’s strengths, particularly for players who enjoy seated or stationary play styles. In terms of content, the game offers a modest but focused selection of levels, supplemented by endless or wave-based modes that emphasize replayability. Customization options, unlockable cosmetic elements, and adjustable visual settings provide small incentives to keep returning, even after mastering the main stages. The limited scope reflects its indie roots, but within that scope the game remains consistent in its design goals, never straying from its emphasis on reflex testing and rhythm mastery. As a solo-developed project, Dashy Square VR does show signs of rough edges. Some players may find the difficulty curve unforgiving, and others may wish for more variety in mechanics or environments. The lack of narrative framing or progression systems means motivation is largely intrinsic, driven by the desire to improve scores and conquer increasingly demanding sequences. However, these limitations are also part of its appeal, as the game commits fully to being a pure skill-based challenge rather than a hybrid experience weighed down by unnecessary features. Overall, Dashy Square VR stands as a focused and energetic example of early VR experimentation done with purpose. It may not offer the depth or polish of larger VR productions, but it delivers a clear, adrenaline-charged experience built around music, speed, and precision. For players who enjoy rhythm games, arcade platformers, or testing their reflexes in immersive environments, it provides a concise yet memorable challenge that embraces the thrill of movement and timing above all else.
