this game honestly reminds me of the days i'd find a fun and charming game on the newgrounds front page then proceed to spend hours and hours unlocking all of the achievements and items. cute characters, great soundtrack, and a fun gameplay loop that doesn't waste any time putting you back in the action after you lose a run. the start might be a bit rough for some, but that's the case with most every roguelite. after the first few runs things start to click and then the game picks up pretty quickly. I've only put ~1 hour in to the 1.0 release so far but im already looking forward to playing more. also, Ishta the cutest
It's a classic rouge-like with beat em up combat that start simple, but slowly add more to work with. It may be difficult at first, but getting the game is a great feeling and I look forward to it's progression!
been having a good time so far with this game it hurts a lot less punching trees in this game than in real life
from the first half an hour it seems awesome, will update once i've played more
Played in early access, playing right now, it's very good. Would recommend. Characters are super cute too!
Yesssss I knew waiting for this game was worth it it's so good! I love the sound effects the most they got so much OOMF to them! So well made :3
Played for about three hours. It's been pretty fun. Huge jump in difficulty on second boss. Boss 3 kinda a baddie?
A solid, well made roguelike with cute, memorable characters, fun dialogue, and satisfying combat. I love the little extra details as well, like the descriptions for items and silly names for the perma-upgrades. Most importantly, the game is straight forward, fast paced, and replayable, allowing you to play run after run in smooth succession. It also feels sooo meaty when you get that massive time stop dashpunching like 5 enemies in one attack,
the best 5 dollars out of a 20 dollar purchase i ever played
You'll never guess what the main mechanic is about after reading the name :V I originally bought this back when it only had 3 worlds available, and I must say the difference between then and now, at least in the first hours, isn't drastically different, but definitely better. It's a bit of a shame this game has such a slow start because it's actually very fun and interesting on the later parts of the run. The game is honestly very chaotic in nature, even when looking at it with the perspective of it being a rogue-lite: The artstyle seems to be intentionally inconsistent in terms of pixel-size. Certain modifiers you interact with during your run (like item randomizers, turning shops free, etc.) can either turn you extremely powerful or turn your fists into squeaky toys. The way to improve your damage is If you are the kind of person that can look past the rough edges, I think Dashpunch not exactly intuitive at first, with it's stat system working more like a bonus than the main way to power yourself up. As someone who can overlook some of it's rough edges, I think Dashpunch is a great game that can teach us to not be afraid of making mistakes and being honest about them. And most importantly, I personally believe it's the type of game we all should play from time to time to open up our minds about what sort of conventions are truly necessary to follow to create good art.
