About
DarkShine is an open world game in classic graphic style where you will meet a former soldier who left the war to save his life and settled in a small but progressive village “Gudwine” that lived a peaceful life, until one day an evil in white armor destroyed their peaceful life. In this game you have the opportunity to develop by running errands for people, earn money for decent equipment, improve this equipment, do farming in your free time and even get your own ship, immediately going to sea on it as a deliveryman of goods between ports. And of course don't forget to save the world along the way, as the Capital is already surrounded by a white army. Where to look for adventure depends only on you. But evil never sleeps, so evolve to fight back when the time comes, find out the main secret of the Shadow or forever be stuck in the loop trying again and again.

per prior conversation and disclaimer: i am a voice actress for this game and also working on the project creatively in other ways. however, this was not as a consequence of looking for that work first, but rather, because i found this game drawing itself to me like an elder entity — it spoke to my soul. the game felt cozy and special, and i had words of encouragement to share that broke through in a way i hadnt anticipated. the developer of this game is truly a wonderful person, with an incredible vision; to that, i hope you love this game. dscorp (the one man dev of this game) m, is so talented. to you: your writing, ability to build atmosphere, and create sense of world place grounding so organically make your world tell a story before the story does. one that involves a history of emotional thought and people who need love through hurt. a gentle and comforting yet eerie and unfamiliar world, loving characters, and vibe that is wholly distinct. the fantastical yet introspective of underlying fears is such a mature and nuanced piece of art that isnt afraid to be quiet and let you find people tell you their stories themselves. that descorp has a personal story that isnt about the player or their perception of memories, but rather those touching moments when his identities in reality are seen and respected by action and choice — so that the mycelium network of their memories, love, heart, can heal in summary, darkshine is more than beautiful already, with constant development and support happening (to the point of adding multiplayer) DarkShine, has more than just a sweetly thick, ominous atmosphere to get drunk in; with a cozy yet-mysterious vibe in an open world inspired by: half life 2, twin peaks, alice in wonderland & life sims — only for $2🌷
Very cool game 👽👽👽👽
super pro game made by pro people
Found this by searching through steamdb for obscure games. So many mechanics are clunky and broken (wont play full animation on clicking button, cant roll while walking etc etc), but it sort of adds to the charm. I didnt encounter any combat, so it was basically a walking simulator. A great experience overall though, and definitely worth more than $2 even in its current unfinished and broken state. At least I enjoyed it more than other more expensive games. Got plenty of great laughs. Lots of screenshot-worthy scenes. Pros: -Amazing cozy vibe/environment. -Quite a bit to explore/look at. The value is not in finding items but in appreciating the vibe/scenery -Quite funny, both the writing style and the game-breaking bugs -Day/night cycle, plus rainy weather, although it can switch immediately from night sky to afternoon lighting when it rains. -Hilariously over-dramatic music when you enter the beach -Good music overall -sound design was good i think -you can hear npcs having conversations -There’s a carnival with big hot air balloon flying above -Beach/coast Cons: -not much interaction/dialogue. I like the dialogue that is present, but it would be great to have more -I was never able to figure out how to open the inventory, if it even actually exists. Pressed every button/key imaginable but nope. -mind blowingly crazy keybinds. It’s just not controller-friendly. Had to remap almost everything to play on steam deck. Should also probably only be a single button for interaction. Combining e and f or something -forced to keep key pressed for some animations to play. it should always play the full animation as soon as the key is clicked

After taking the task, go to Dominic, the shop owner. Behind the display case right next to him, there's free armor that gives you 200 points of protection, which is quite a lot, so you can safely hug your enemies without fear of being destroyed. Next, go to Horizon and read the letter from the employer. Easily deal with the first wave of enemies and, after passing through the enemy, reach the apple orchard. The most important thing is to keep the crows at a distance and activate Tornado in time to take out several of them at once. If the armor still doesn't hold up, there are first aid kits scattered nearby, especially one behind the house that saved me at the last moment. The main thing is not to get hit, otherwise the mission will fail and you won't be able to complete it again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Post delivery mission: A side quest that can be found at the post office. It is difficult to find because there is no marker on the map. In it, you need to deliver parcels to people in Goodway and houses around the village. After delivering the package to the lighthouse, jump into the water and swim to the ship. Near it, there is a boat with a mailbox where you need to deliver the last envelope. I ran around the map for a long time trying to find this last box. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buying your first ship: An interesting side quest, a little long when you play through it for the first time. You need to collect 500 coins for your first ship by borrowing money from the priest in the church. Then you go to the closed mine through the well and, after going deep into the mine, you find iron ore, which you immediately extract with a pickaxe lying nearby. Return to Goodwine and sell the ore at the market. Do this a couple of times and you will get the +100 coins you needed to buy the ship. Buy the documents from Dominic and immediately go to the ship to find out what parts you need to repair it. Next, we go through the list, collecting spare parts, and buy resin from Dominic to repair the roof, which we use to seal the ship's hull. After the repairs, we launch the ship and gain access to cargo transportation. To take a transportation order, we approach the order board near the stairs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Growing tomatoes in the garden: A cool trick is to take a bucket of water from the well and run back and forth a couple of times to water the tomato bushes in front of your house. After that, collect the tomato harvest in a basket and go to the market to sell them. You will get 30 coins for this. A small amount of pocket money to quickly save up for equipment from Dominic. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delivering cargo by ship: After acquiring my first ship, I set sail and delivered cargo to the beach near the lighthouse. Then I returned and took an order to deliver boxes of wine to the capital. I sailed for a long time with an emphasis on realism, and ran into pirates along the way who demanded coins so that I could safely pass through the sea. I refused and immediately became their number one enemy. I didn't manage to get away the first time and they sank me. The ship was then washed ashore, and I had to complete a quest to repair it. After that, I set sail from the beach and headed for the capital again. I delivered the cargo and found a cooler ship in the store that cost about 3,000 coins. I had to sail a lot to deliver cargo, but I was able to save up, and there were no more pirates at sea. It's a shame you can't charge them for safe passage at sea
