нет.
A captivating story, challenging gameplay and depth of character. This game has none of that, but what it does have is Steam Trading Cards.

Dark Egypt, developed and published by GDNomaD, is an indie first-person adventure that aims to capture the tension of being trapped deep within an ancient, hostile pyramid. The premise is immediately compelling: an archaeologist finds themselves sealed inside a sprawling tomb filled with traps, hidden passages, and lingering supernatural threats. It’s the kind of setup that naturally lends itself to claustrophobic horror and environmental storytelling, and at its best, the game does manage to evoke that sense of isolation and danger. The experience is built primarily around exploration and survival. Players navigate narrow corridors, solve simple environmental puzzles, and attempt to avoid hazards that can quickly end a run. Rather than relying on combat, the game emphasizes movement and awareness, asking players to react to traps, memorize safe routes, and adapt to unexpected threats. This creates a constant underlying tension, especially in sections where the environment itself becomes the primary danger. However, the design often leans heavily on trial-and-error, with many obstacles requiring repeated attempts to fully understand. While this can make progress feel earned, it also risks becoming frustrating when failure feels more like guesswork than the result of player error. The atmosphere is one of the game’s more effective elements. The pyramid setting, with its dim lighting, tight spaces, and ominous silence, helps create a sense of unease that persists throughout much of the experience. Ambient sound plays a significant role, using subtle cues to suggest movement or danger beyond the player’s immediate view. There are moments where the game successfully builds tension through anticipation alone, making even simple navigation feel risky. However, this atmosphere is inconsistent, as it is occasionally disrupted by repetitive environments and a lack of visual variety. Mechanically, the game is quite simple, and this simplicity can be both a strength and a weakness. On one hand, it makes the game easy to understand and allows players to focus on survival rather than complex systems. On the other, it limits the depth of interaction, as there are few mechanics that evolve or expand over time. The result is a gameplay loop that can start to feel repetitive, especially as similar challenges are encountered repeatedly without significant variation. One of the more problematic aspects of Dark Egypt is how it handles difficulty and progression. The game often provides little guidance, leaving players to figure out solutions through repeated failure rather than clear feedback. This can create a steep and sometimes discouraging learning curve, where progress is slowed by unclear objectives or unpredictable hazards. Instead of building tension through deliberate design, the game sometimes relies on sudden or unavoidable events, which can break immersion and make the experience feel uneven. Technical issues further complicate matters. Stability problems, long loading times, and general lack of polish can interrupt gameplay at critical moments, amplifying frustration in a game that already demands patience. These issues make it harder to stay engaged, as players may find themselves dealing with the game’s shortcomings as often as its intended challenges. Visually, the game presents a mixed picture. While the Egyptian theme is recognizable and occasionally effective, the environments often feel repetitive and lacking in detail. Some areas manage to capture the atmosphere of an ancient tomb, but others appear sparse or overly similar to one another. This inconsistency affects immersion, as the sense of discovery is diminished when new areas don’t feel meaningfully different from previous ones. The narrative is minimal and largely serves as a backdrop rather than a driving force. While the concept of ancient curses and hidden secrets is present, it is not explored in depth, leaving the story feeling underdeveloped. Players looking for a strong narrative thread may find little to hold onto, as the game focuses more on moment-to-moment survival than on storytelling. In the end, Dark Egypt is a game that shows flashes of potential but struggles to deliver a cohesive experience. Its setting and core idea are strong, and there are moments where its atmosphere and tension come together effectively. However, inconsistent design, technical issues, and a lack of depth prevent it from fully realizing that potential. It’s a title that may appeal to players who enjoy rough, experimental indie projects and don’t mind a fair amount of frustration, but for most, it will likely feel more like an unfinished concept than a polished game. Rating: 4/10
1.5/5 Extremely boring indie-horror that could only be 'scary' when played by screamy youtubers. 1.5 for nostalgia for that youtube era and for the fact that the game has cards.
