Dark Adelita

Great and fun game. It is on the short side but I can say all that time is fun. The bosses sometimes can feel like a battle of attrition but that means you are improving at the game. Has extra challenge modes post-game, worth a try. Recommended.

Este es un juego corto pero intenso que una vez terminado, anima a ser rejugado en los nuevos modos que hacen que la experiencia sea más arcade. Aunque me divertí mucho, lo que realmente me gustó fue el amor que demuesta a la cultura mexicana: referencias a la revolución, los mitos y leyendas, y detalles como que los checkpoints son estatuas de la virgen de Guadalupe. Dark Adelita es una de esas sorpresas que te recuerdan por qué los videojuegos también pueden ser arte. Desde el primer momento, lo que más destaca es su apartado visual: cada escenario, personaje y animación está lleno de personalidad, con un estilo artístico que no solo es hermoso, sino también cuidadosamente detallado. Hay una clara intención detrás de cada color, cada sombra y cada diseño, creando una atmósfera que se siente viva y única. Pero Dark Adelita no se queda solo en lo visual. Uno de sus mayores aciertos está en los jefes. Cada enfrentamiento se siente fresco, creativo y, sobre todo, divertido. No son simples obstáculos: cada jefe tiene mecánicas propias que te obligan a adaptarte, aprender y mejorar. Esto hace que cada combate sea memorable, manteniendo al jugador constantemente enganchado y con ganas de descubrir qué viene después. En conjunto, el juego logra un equilibrio muy sólido entre estética y jugabilidad. Es una experiencia que entra por los ojos, pero que se queda contigo por lo bien que se siente jugarlo. I'm really enjoying Dark Adelita; it has all the features of a classic run & gun arcade shooter. The level design is well thought out, with enemies carefully hand-placed, and some sections can become really challenging. The sound effects, music, and pixel art are all on point. The only thing I miss is the option to remap the controls to my liking. The default controls are fine, but I’d personally like to crouch using the left trigger on my gamepad. Sometimes the bullets fired by enemies can put you in unfair situations. The ability to roll and gain invincibility frames (i-frames) to dodge them would be a nice addition to help prevent that. Boss battles are challenging and well designed, but I think some bosses could give clearer hints before their next attack so players don’t get surprised unfairly. Overall, Dark Adelita is a really cool game. Well done!

Short and lovely arcade experience. Great controls, presentation and functional story. Just wish it was a little longer but cant really complain for the price.

Beautiful and charming art The game feels very challenging without being overly punishing wich makes it feel a win more rewarding, Revolver is my favourite gun but in general all weapons are super fun to use, I enjoyed the lore and music, would recommend and play again.
