This is good, movement of characters at times can be janky but otherwise very good and engaging

This game lets you become acquainted with the women killed by Jack the Ripper, not as victims but as people, which is amazing in itself. Add to that a dynamic duo of flawed and charming protagonists, with centuries of push-and-pull partnership, and a root in Arthurian legend, and you have a story unlike any other. The game's progress is logical, through mini-puzzles and dialogue trees, and though the mechanics of movement were sometimes a little awkward, the spooky atmosphere of late C19 East London is worth it. I loved this game.
Well, the whole plot about Lancelot and Morgan Le Fey investigating
Jack the Ripper
case is the best part of it. Sadly, there isn't much game - the only thing you do is walking one of the characters (terribly slow and often completely broken in terms of pathfinding, man, it will make you suffer) from one point to another clicking the only active POI and listening to dialogs, when you either have options that change nothing or no options at all. No inventory, no puzzles (honestly, half a dozen of minigames does not count), no exploring (game hardly has a dozen of locations) no investigation per se. It's like visual novel, and visuals are the worst part. While characters design is okay-ish and even nice sometimes, the animation is outdated for 20 years easily. I'm pretty sure, some adventures from early 2000th looked better in terms of animation. Powered by infamous Unity, it manages to shutter on the same rig I've used to play Hellblade: Senua Sacrifice with high settings. Even the nice plot with, I must admit, state-of-the-art voice acting, sometimes feels weird, like there are some key scene missing completely. Tbh after completing the game I was sure it was based on some book or maybe graphic novel, but looks like it’s completely genuine story which surely deserves better adaptation in both technical and storytelling means.
I'm playing it mostly on a PS5 and I might change my opinion at some point, but right now it isn't too positive EDIT: My save broke on the PS5 and I'm unable to continue playing As a fan of Arthurian legends, I was excited to see an adventure game with an interesting premise: immortals Lancelot and Morgan investigating the Jack the Ripper case while looking for Merlin in hopes to break the curse on Morgan. However, the longer I played the more I saw some liberties with the legends that displeased me greatly. Don't take the legends as accurate Ignoring the legends, the gameplay is stiff and cumbersome both on the PS5 and steam, with everything moving very slow even on a high end desktop, some hot spots not activating properly and the potion brewing minigame is unpleasant. There are some 2D art in the 3D environment, likely the result of the budget or team size but it can be quite jarring. The environment to explore is rather restrictive, there aren't many places to go which makes it mostly a fetch quest. Maybe not a bad thing, considering how slow the walking speed is. Badly optimized the loading times can be slow and it even crashed on a PS5 during a dialogue. After a certain point, the game gets lewd. Once they show the scene of Lancelot and Guinevere cheating on Arthur, they never cease to make lewd commentary or jokes so it is certainly intended for more mature audiences. But one thing that I can't wrap my head around was
abortion as a side-quest
. I'm not against it, but the way it was handled was out of nowhere and rather... abrupt. I want to support indie and small studios, this might be a debut game or something. It has some promising ideas.
