Dairy of the Dead

I am aware that this is a demonstration for the toolkit/platform Adventure Forge, and I have played their other title (The Icarus Experiment- it's great!) with the same purposes and was expecting the same type of adventure, but got something different. Some parts of this I really did enjoy, the new take on a "zombie apocalypse" was refreshing and fun! The puzzles were fun-ish and unique but didn't match the basic point-and-click and lackluster gameplay. I was not able to turn down the blasting music despite changing it in settings.. so have fun with that. I loved the concept of a silly adventure to get milk for your spunky kitty, Missus Whiskus, during a "life threatening apocalypse".. but I was hoping for a more silly, cozy and engaging adventure rather than the oddly, politically charged conversations and boring gameplay. Despite that, the writing was witty and it was enjoyable to read most of the dialogue. Honestly, I am not recommending it because I don't think it brought much joy in the hour or so I played it. BUT I think with time and effort and some gameplay changes this could eventually be a very fun take on a full zombie survival game with twists! Go play their other game, The Icarus Experiment, if you want a feel of the toolkit, Adventures Forge, and a better experience.

A terrible game, just plain terrible. You walk around clicking on people and reading dialogue that makes absolutely no sense with no inspiration to actually read what is said. Puzzles are dull as dull can be. Music in the background is super annoying and there's no settings or options in the game whatsoever. I eventually got to a vault and got stuck in a nearby wall. Had to force close only to be thrown back to the beginning of the game where there's no way I'm going to go through it all over again. A Steam review by Popcan12 was spot on, should have listened to em'. Do not play this game. It's so terrible.

Игра "Dairy of the Dead" - это довольно интересная и необычная выживалка в зомби-апокалипсисе. Сеттинг фермы в глуши добавляет определенный шарм, и необходимость заниматься сельским хозяйством, чтобы прокормить себя и других выживших, привносит свежую струю в жанр. Мне понравилось, что помимо отстрела зомби, приходится думать о более прозаичных вещах: выращивании урожая, уходе за животными, ремонте построек. Система взаимоотношений с другими персонажами также реализована неплохо, от их настроения и лояльности зависит, насколько эффективно они будут помогать в работе и защите фермы. Однако, игра не лишена недостатков. Графика, конечно, оставляет желать лучшего и выглядит устаревшей. ИИ зомби довольно примитивный, что со временем может наскучить. Также, иногда баланс сложности немного хромает, и в начале игры выжить бывает неимоверно трудно. В целом, "Dairy of the Dead" - это неплохая игра для тех, кто ищет что-то новое в жанре зомби-выживалок и готов закрыть глаза на некоторые недостатки. Если вас не пугает простенькая графика и вы любите копаться в грядках, отбиваясь от орд мертвецов, то рекомендую попробовать. Она предлагает уникальный геймплей, который может затянуть надолго.
