For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

This is the first half of my review of the game. You can read the entirety of my review here: https://gaming-age.com/2025/09/daemon-x-machina-titanic-scion-review-for-pc-ps5-xbox-series-x-switch-2/ Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is… fun… I think? I enjoyed it a lot of the time, but just as much of the time I spent with it, I found myself just feeling blank about it. Not negative, but also not positive. Titanic Scion is a game with a lot to explore, a lot to craft, and a lot to take in. The gameplay, in its stride, is very fun, but the story leaves something to be desired. A mecha game sort of, but, actually it’s a power suit, maybe? It’s hard to place exactly how I feel about everything, but I did enjoy my time overall with DxM: Titanic Scion. As mentioned, where Daemon X Machina, really as a series at this point, hits its stride is in the gameplay itself. The combat is tight, fast, fluid, and fun. Dashing through fights at high speeds to clash with opponents and dodge attacks feels so, so good a lot of the time. However, counter-intuitively, being that the game is open-world in most of your time spent, so many enemies you fight are mindless and makes it so most of your combat time is spent really doing the bare minimum. It’s at conflict with itself, giving fights the potential to be simultaneously insanely fun and gratifying while also having the potential to be over in 15 seconds. Then you walk (or more likely fly) 15 seconds up the road and get another 15 second combat… hearing the same combat music restart again, and then again, and then again. Get used to hearing the first 15 seconds of that song, because you are gonna hear it A LOT. I think if Titanic Scion balanced fights better to make the general enemies either more numerous, have more health, or just feel more involved in battles, the regular combat would be much more enjoyable. As it was in my experience, the boss fights in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion are where I had the most (if not the majority of my) fun. Partially because, as you could gather from my previous comments, they last longer than 15 seconds. Boss combats are challenging in fun ways and long enough to put you in a bind if you’re not careful. I always prefer light builds, so of course I did a lot of zipping around and dodging in my way of play. My dark souls training has led me to have the dodge button on lock at any given moment, so running light is what I do best.

It's okay.
Got this game as part of a humble bundle that had 3 other games I'd been wanting. Hadn't heard of the franchise before and didn't know what to expect going in. I very much feel like I got this game for free. Important context for my review. I would NOT recommend this at full price. Finding out this game is 70 bucks is wild. This is a 30 dollar game at launch, anything more is overpaying. The game is fun, but missing some polish. The story is alright, kind of typical anime game type story. Combat is fun, customization feels deep, and art style works. The controls are solid, and the fact you can customize your controls is a big reason for it. targeting and combat is usually good, but can occasionally slip or not make sense. I've had target locking go through the guy I'm looking at and lock on to someone flying 50m away. However, this isn't consistent so you may or may not experience this yourself. The story never grabs, but it's servicable to the gameplay. If you're looking for a good story, this isn't it. Actual build loadout and customization is pretty solid. It's not as good as some of the big names comparable to it, like Armored Core, but it is fun and doesn't work against itself which is good.
Very poorly designed gamed. The gameplay is the worse offender it's not intuitive, there are invisible walls popping from nowhere but enemies can go through and the worse is the whole presentation and the clunkyness of the game. Thsi is clearly a half baked proejct with good ideas and no real vision of gameplya. I would not recommend this game gladly I got it for 2$
A Daemon's Titanic Strangeness
DxM: Titanic Scion is an third-person action-shooter with RPG elements in a mecha-style ensemble. You are an Outer, an augmented human and formerly part of the Sovereign Axiom, an Outer-centric organization that has warred with humanity for several centuries. In the ashes of two distinct wars and a devastated star system, you're left fending for yourself and joining with a ragtag team of scavengers trying to navigate the aftermath of Earth. There's a lot for me to say about Titanic Scion, and my general conflicted feelings throughout playing it. Firstly, unlike its predecessor, DxM, Titanic Scion breaks the former's Armored Core mold by two major decisions: removing the mecha in favor of a pilot-centric exosuit, and going to an open world environment. Both very ambitious and distinct in the attempt to change the game's baseline formula while maintaining the same combat model. I didn't hate it necessarily, but it also didn't impress me as much as it could've. For one, the overworld model unfortunately follows the worst version: the environment is largely irrelevant, combat centers on pockets of enemies, and you have to sparingly jet around picking up mining nodes. It is a series of content islands chained together that exist solely for their own sake and not much else. DxM's Ace Combat / Armored Core 'pick a mission and execute' style is near completely absent, but traversing the overworld did not add anything to the experience of ... navigating to the mission's starting flag compared to just starting a mission. For such a dramatic investment in development resources, I don't know if the overworld justifies itself. Even with Co-Op in such an environment, there was never a reason to leave each other or explore on our own (in fact, the host has a tether to the co-op partners so lol). On the other hand, Titanic Scion is a large step forward in the technical gameplay, user interface, and overall character build/play experience compared to DxM. Taking the foundations of its predecessor and iterating on it went universally well, and even going back to DxM with my rose-tinted glasses immediately noticed how much better Titanic Scion was in this respect. I'm not a fan of the smaller, non-mecha scale, but the exosuit gameplay is functionally the same just ... very flimsy and weightless feeling. The whole point of mecha is to have cool machinery working, not some laser that materializes your armor on and off at will, you know? My largest and unyielding criticism of the game, however, is the complete mess of a story. It is severely underbaked, barely strung together, and lacking in the punch it wants to deliver about human social connection, technology changing the human condition, and the divorce one experiences when they no longer believe in their (former) way of life. All the ingredients are there, the components make sense, but they are just NOT cooked to completion. DxM's own story had some wild ideas going on with it, but the classical Armored Core mission narrator / email system, plus in-mission cutscenes, did a lot for its presentation. Cohesive, wild in some places, but it drove you start to finish. Titanic Scion struggled constantly despite aping some of the same hallmarks. This, unfortunately, greatly damaged the game's experience despite the solid technical basis, as I found myself laughing constantly at the drama it wanted to present because it was so undeserved. Former teammate espousing eco-terrorism views and yadda yadda? Meet them once, have a fight, meet them again, kill them, dramatic monologue, aaaand they're gone, well onto the next cause I got neun of these one-trick ponies to work through. Again, each of them had interesting ideas, but this played like a proof-of-concept for pacing, not a final or cohesive product. Sure, the gameplay was pretty good, but the difference between a game and a sandbox is the narrative experience tying it together, you know?
Conclusion
I was honestly conflicted about Titanic Scion all the way up to finishing it. The game's strange issues and underbaked feeling honestly makes me think there was significant trouble in development and the team had to prioritize shipping literally anything. It had the ambition for something much grander, and all the parts were there, it just didn't build out to achieving that potential. The fact it was so robust in some ways, such as the technical gameplay, is proof of their skillful capability, so I don't think they were overreaching necessarily. This game is barely a positive 'yes' from me because of that: the gameplay is solid for a DxM sequel and you can have fun in co-op with friends. The story is a mess, even by this genre's standards, and sadly very forgettable as a result. I think picking this up on sale at the least is the best way forward, and if you have two other friends (3 player co-op), it can be a fun romp. The inclusion of challenge dungeons, world bosses, and other repeat grind/farm content is where the meat of the game will actually be, and give you something to chew on for a good few dozen hours if you're really into that sort of thing.
Oh boy, this is a rough one. Played the first game, too. Took my time exploring the game a bit, about halfway through the story. I got the game on the 80% off sale after reading the reviews. It is not as bad as it is made out to be, but it does leave a bit to be desired. -Open world feels like Warframe's Fortuna but slimmed down and admittedly relatively barren. -Bosses and enemies can range from braindead simple to annoyingly frustrating but never be really difficult. -The story is nothing to write home about, some characters are alright though. -DLC is meh +The movement (once it clicks) isn't that bad, though sometimes a bit chaotic to manage +The gameplay loop itself is good (kill - loot - craft - repeat) (-but can also get tedious with the grinding) +Build variety and customization is decent If anything, this game has a lot of decent things it shot for but missed quite a bunch, sadly. I would recommend it on a sale and there are mods on Nexus that help a bit with the grindy-ness the game centers around if you want to skip grinding. 6.5/10 if I had to rate it, I personally still think it is fun enough to warrant a try if you like mech games (more like mechsuits) and are starved for more. Don't go in expecting it to be Armored Core, though.
