Test chamber 17 is fixed now. FINALLY I HAVE BEATEN THE GAME. I CAN NOW DIE HAPPY. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
If you like portal, you'll probably like this. I won't repeat what all the other reviews said. It's not portal but it has the same feel in the puzzles and is very well made. I don't think it's perfect but for early access and the price it's definitely worth a look. The new cyclone mechanic is fun and not always totally obvious how to use it which is great. The game seems to run flawlessly and I've experienced no issues even running it on proton/linux. I'd say that if you like portal then a few $/£ for some more similar fun puzzles with a new mechanic then it's great. That's not to say it's perfect and I'd like to offer some feedback too. (based on playing about half the game so far so some of it may be inaccurate later on...) Most of these are comparing the feel of the game with that of portal as it's so obviously meant to be similar. - It doesn't have any story, voiceover or plot. It's apparent that in portal 1/2 the puzzles are what make it a good game but the story/voiceovers are what make it *great*. It kind of felt a bit "flat" at times just doing puzzles even though the puzzles are good. - Portal 2 in particular doesn't have many puzzles where timing or manual skill is important. There are a few. There seem to be more in this game where timing matters which I find difficult and struggled a bit with. I don't want to imply it has any difficult manual skill requirements, it's probably very easy for most players, more that I'm terrible at that kind of thing, and portal felt like it had fewer times that required timing or accuracy. - The feel of picking cubes up, catching things, dropping things etc, didn't feel *quite* right to me. it's very difficult to articulate how but hopefully it's something that can be iterated on during early access. Again it's never a problem but perhaps an area to polish. - I believe it's quite short. Even more so that portal 1. I've not got to the end yet so I'm not that sure. Not a problem as it's very good value at the asking price but don't expect many hours of gameplay. These are all minor quibbles though. This is a great fun small game that seems to be very well made and I wholeheartedly recommend it if you liked portal (perhaps more portal 1 than 2 in feel).
Long time fan of Blue Portals, really pleased with pretty much everything about this, visuals are gorgeous, main puzzle mechanic is fun and satisfying and the puzzles are very fun to solve overall just a really solid puzzle game and i'm excited to see the final game!
It was fun and enjoyable, although very short. I was able to beat it in around 25 minutes on my first playthrough. I see reepblue plans to add custom level support (without using leadwerks) in the future, and when that happens i'm sure the playtime will be increased dramatically.
Nice game from the creator of Blue Portals. I wish there would be more levels though, and some more complicated ones. Also those that don't require precise timing. Would be nice to have levels that make you think.
really interesting game. i do think some levels are a bit too hard and that they could be moved to the end of the game like levels 13 and 15
A very cool portal 1 inspired game. But instead of portals, it's a gun that shoots out a little wormhole that constantly pushes whatever is in front of it. This leads to some interesting challenges where in Portal, would be trivial. Also this game completely nails the atmosphere of Portal 1 down to a tee. There's no AI voice over for each room, and that actually really adds to the isolation feeling of this game. I love Portal 1 and 2, but something I always thought was lost when transitioning from Portal 1 and 2 was the feeling of complete isolation and helplessness as you completed each test. I have no idea what's going, why I'm doing these tests. Why I was number 94 in the waiting room. It just feels like something is wrong in this place. Great environmental story telling. The game is still in early access at the moment, but I can see that a lot of passion went into this. Game doesn't seem to have an ending, and just sorta fades to black once you've beaten all the levels. I beat the game in about 24 mins, but had a great time doing so. Can't wait for more content of this game to come out.
This is great! Finished in under an hour, but still fun nonetheless! It will definitely improve your reaction time, as some of the puzzles are more fast-paced compared to Portal levels, but what can ya do when the main mechanic is velocity? The only gripes I have are that the objects aren't very "throwable," the air seems more dense than in Portal. It's great for an Early Access Game!
