There is an options menu if you hit right after you hit begin and you can remap the keys to something your more familiar with if you would like however its still a little hard to hit the enemies like you would expect, i would like to be able to chain my jumps to take out multiple enemies in a single jump but i seem to be messing it up and just getting hit by things. would be better if my controller worked for it personally. could be good game but i can never get past wave 6 on stage one so,,
I'd love to love this game, but it's just way too clunky with controls and too hard for those controls.

I like it for what it is. Very simplistic but the waves of enemies have you maneuvering around, threading the needle just to stay alive. Also item drops are fun to juggle and use when you need to eek some damage on an enemy that's out of reach. The Icing on the cake is your taunt raises your score so you are always doing something in this game.
Interesting co-op arcade concept that's easy to understand, but has high-skill cap (hard to master).
Curses 'N Chaos is a fast-paced retro action game developed and published by Tribute Games Inc., a studio known for its love of classic arcade-inspired experiences. Built around the idea of surviving relentless enemy waves while searching for a cure to a magical affliction, the game delivers a straightforward but highly entertaining premise. Players take control of bounty hunters Leo or Lea, who find themselves cursed by the sinister Wizard King. To break the spell, they must gather ingredients from defeated monsters and work with an alchemist to create the legendary Elixir of Life. While the story serves primarily as a framework for the action, it provides enough motivation to keep players invested in the journey. The core gameplay revolves around intense arena-based combat where survival depends on quick reflexes, smart positioning, and efficient use of resources. Unlike traditional side-scrolling beat-'em-ups that emphasize exploration and stage progression, Curses 'N Chaos keeps players confined to compact battlefields packed with enemies. This design choice creates a constant sense of urgency, as new threats appear from every direction with little downtime between encounters. The simplicity of the structure allows the combat mechanics to take center stage, and the result is an experience that feels immediately accessible while still offering room for mastery. Combat itself is easy to learn but surprisingly nuanced. Players can punch, kick, jump, and use a variety of weapons and special tools, but surviving later waves requires more than basic attacks. Different enemy types possess unique behaviors, forcing players to adapt their strategies on the fly. Managing crowds, avoiding damage, and choosing the right moment to strike become increasingly important as the difficulty ramps up. The controls are responsive and satisfying, giving every successful combo and last-second dodge a rewarding sense of impact. This focus on skill-based gameplay helps maintain excitement even after extended play sessions. One of the game's most compelling features is its crafting and alchemy system. Defeated enemies drop ingredients that can be combined into useful items ranging from healing supplies to powerful offensive weapons. This mechanic adds depth to what could have otherwise been a straightforward survival game. Players are constantly deciding whether to save materials for future recipes or spend them immediately to gain an advantage. The crafting system encourages experimentation and creates a meaningful progression loop that complements the arcade-style action. Unlocking new recipes and discovering effective item combinations adds variety and helps keep the gameplay fresh. Visually, Curses 'N Chaos is a love letter to classic pixel-art gaming. The colorful sprites, expressive animations, and detailed character designs give the game plenty of charm. Every enemy has a distinct appearance that makes battles easy to read even when the screen becomes crowded with action. The environments may be relatively simple, but they are filled with personality and fit the retro aesthetic perfectly. Accompanying the visuals is an energetic soundtrack that enhances the game's frantic pace and captures the spirit of old-school arcade adventures. The cooperative mode is another major strength. Playing alongside a friend transforms the experience into a chaotic and highly enjoyable battle for survival. Teamwork becomes essential as players coordinate attacks, share resources, and rescue one another during difficult encounters. The local co-op implementation feels natural and significantly increases the game's replay value. Fans of classic couch multiplayer titles will likely find this aspect to be one of the game's biggest attractions. Despite its many strengths, the game does have a few limitations. The arena-based structure can become repetitive over long periods, especially for players who prefer extensive exploration, complex storytelling, or constantly changing environments. Although new enemies and crafting options help introduce variety, the overall gameplay loop remains largely focused on surviving successive waves. The challenge can also become demanding, occasionally leading to frustration when multiple powerful enemies overwhelm the player. However, these issues are relatively minor and are largely a consequence of the game's commitment to its arcade-inspired design philosophy. Ultimately, Curses 'N Chaos succeeds because it embraces its identity without compromise. It combines satisfying combat, rewarding progression systems, charming retro presentation, and excellent cooperative play into a package that feels both nostalgic and fresh. While it may not offer the expansive content of larger action games, it excels at delivering concentrated bursts of action that reward skill, persistence, and experimentation. For fans of classic arcade brawlers and retro-inspired indie games, it remains a highly enjoyable experience that showcases Tribute Games' talent for crafting engaging old-school adventures. Rating: 7/10
Fun game combat is simple in execution but does require timing and strategy. Satisfying to be rewarded for good spacing and platforming, beautiful lofi art style and great theme. Only thing is that there could be more of a tutorial as there are many aspects of the game you have to figure out yourself (items, certain moves you can do, owl).
A fun action game with top-notch pixel art and animation, a great game play loop and a ton of cool monsters. Recommended for fans of retro games, and games that provide a challenge, because this one is pretty difficult :).
