Reviews
Culinary Mayhem feels like a wild mash-up of DOOM and Pizza Tower, with a bit of ULTRAKILL thrown in for good measure. The soundtrack is completely unhinged in the best way—super varied and energetic—and it ties the whole thing together, turning the game into this chaotic storm of food fights and kitchen carnage. If you want, I can also write a more whimsical version of the review, or we can check out reviews of other games too—just let me know what sounds fun. 🎮🍕🔥
Unreal engine asset flip with no soul at all, do not waste your time on this.
I like how when you dash you take a chomp out of their face. 10/10

I’ve been really enjoying my time with this game so far, especially considering it’s still in early access. It offers a fun and unique twist that keeps me coming back, and I can definitely see myself spending more time with it as it continues to develop. I’m especially excited to see how the developers build on what’s already here, because the foundation is solid and full of potential. The only downside for me right now is the movement speed. It feels a fast and unfortunately makes me a little nauseous at times. I’m hoping this is something that can be adjusted in future updates. Overall, though, it’s a promising game with a lot of charm, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
First I want to mention that this review may be outdated because I reviewed it during early access. Generally fun game to play when you want to turn your brain off, but has some questionable design choices. Starting with level design, I understand that the premise was supposed to be that the player was transported into a weird kitchen world upon entering the back of the restaurant, but personally it felt too random and didn't have enough context. The levels consist of the player jumping on and across various kitchen tools, some of which are static in the air. At least make the items in the air have a simple floating animation, otherwise it looks like lazy level design. Next are the mechanics. There is no reason for the player to let go of the left mouse button. I was expecting the accuracy to get worse the longer you shoot because of the circular crosshair on the screen, but the player always shoots in one place. The only thing keeping me from not shooting is my finger getting tired. The movement for the game was fine, although I wish the dash was more snappy so it would match the audio. Wall running was a interesting mechanic, but there was very little control over it. As soon as you get near a wall-running wall, the player snaps to the side of the wall and moves at a constant speed along it. From what it looks like, the player is able to wall-run forever without falling. I also wish there were more wall running opportunities in the levels. Finally, while the enemies do work, they are a bit frustrating and do poorly with the game's level design. The broccoli enemies path-find to the player, but are very easy to cheese. The player can jump on an elevated area, and the broccoli will be stuck against the wall. This may be at the fault of the level design, but if the developers knew that the level would be like this, they should have accounted for it by allowing the enemies to jump or some other workaround. The cookie (or potato idk) enemies have good design, but I would recommend making their projectiles more visible to the player. The boss enemy onion should telegraph their attacks more. While there is a wind-up, I have no clue when the attack is actually going to launch. It could just be a skill issue on my part. Note: Forgot to add this, but I have no clue what each powerup does when I collect them (besides the plates that heal you) Some things I liked about the game: - The opening title screen looks really cool - The music is good (though i think it resembles Doom a bit too much) - Tutorial was well made and taught me how to play the game By biggest critique is that this game has no creativity or innovation that makes it stand out. While there is a lot of mayhem (for better or for worse), there is no culinary mechanics and is just a Doom reskin. The art isn't enough the justify this game being culinary themed. I know I am being extremely critical on this game, but I believe this feedback is needed for it to improve.

Really not a good shot ; 4G of Ram for simplistics environments with an overpolished lightning, no enemy sounds, very few players sounds, no customization options, linear environment that still manages to be clippable. The mechanic and idea is good, but the rest has to be reconsidered.
