Cubes and Knights

Hidden Gem but needs alot of updates. Sometimes the game will put you in unwinnable situations. Hidden Weapons are far too unreasonable to "farm" for. This game is a very fun test of skill if you are a slasher veteran from the likes of Darker&Darker and Mordhau, but due to some rough edges I cannot reccomend this to everyone. I genuinely hope the guy in Russia who made this game reads this and makes the game easier to work with.

I really love this game! I love the oldschool approach! The game play is fun and tense, exploration is fun and challenging the combat is entertaining, I love this title, Now the only things I wish it had are these 1) controller support 2) a local multi-player function and or a network multi-player I know all these things are alot and take time, but they do not make or break the grace of this title. I highly encourage you to check it out!

maybe not a full time game, but something to pick up every once in a while when you're in the mood. The combat is satisfying and challenging. Game gets very hard. It's so cool to be fighting and have your sword swing take out part of a wall on it's way to slashing someone. This dev rocks though due to only making his games to software render. Something about that intrigues the hell out of me. In case you missed it in the game description: "I wrote the engine code in C++, this is a software renderer. This means that the whole picture is being built by the CPU forces."

Totally worth the price, even when not on sale! I've had lots of fun and it's a very unique indie game. The focus is on immersive atmosphere and gameplay. You can feel the weight of your hits and the pressure you need to put onto enemies. The secrets and progression are all tricky but satisfying. I wish this game to be even more fleshed out in a new version.

Fun little game, combat is awkward at first but after mastering it felt really good. I would recommend the game to people that want a challenge and likes optional exploration in dungeon crawlers. The only problems I have with the game is that it could be too short if you just speedrun to the end, and it doesn't have much content/mechanics. But it felt like a solid game.

Cubes and Knights is a very enjoyable and challenging rogue-like dungeon crawler. With a mysterious and creepy atmosphere, great looking pixel art, well designed and impactful combat, and secrets galore this game was exciting the whole way through, as I learned its ins and outs and delved deep into the lair of the necromancer. Go in blind! Don't look up guides, figure out the secrets of the dungeon yourself. And lastly, beware, brave knight, lest ye die and be reanimated to walk the halls forever by the necromancer, like so many have before you.
