About
Overcome a series of challenging stages in this roguelite horde survival game by developing your power with spells across many different dimensions, including items, upgrades, talents, and more that interact with each other to produce many unique and powerful builds.
Crucible of the Forgotten combines the moment-to-moment tactical gameplay of horde survival roguelites with the depth of build crafting found in classic ARPGs and strategic evolution of the player character over a much shorter period of time. With special attention on unique mechanical interactions rather then simply combining numerical attributes, you will need to experiment and plan your strategies to succeed.
You will rapidly gain power through your choices, defining your build as you progress through the stages in the game, with sessions taking anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours.
Choose from among dozens of options on character levels, spell upgrades, talents, items, resource usage, and more to build your character the way you want. Unlock meta progression choices to further customize your play style.
At the end of most stages, face off against powerful bosses that will test your skill and push your build to its limits.

Best survivors game ever
Has interesting and deep systems for buildcrafting
After 34 hours I've finally managed to defeat the final boss. This game has limitless potential, the character and spell leveling system is remarkably well made and fun to play around with. The unique level ups for spells combined with different spell modifiers gives this game unreal amounts of replayability. Game is pretty difficult and needs some time to get into and understand all the niche mechanics the game provides, but after you get into it, it's incredibly fun building a literal god character. The progression system along with difficulty/world modifiers is pretty unique in the way it works and you can combine modifiers to suit the build you're going for. The game strongly rewards you for increasing difficulty, and you will want those rewards! It is an early access release and the developer is constantly working on updating the game with QOL changes and bug fixed, and I believe they will expand this game to new heights with new characters, spells, domains and much much more in the future. Strong recommend for any lovers of survivor like roguelites. Play the demo, check it out, and support this amazing developer!
I don't review early access games unless they make a strong impression, and this one does. There are a lot of bullet heavens out there, but the spell building in this separates it from the rest of the pack. Highly recommended, really hope the dev doesn't burn out.

This game is great. I was on the fence when I originally purchased as its probably just vampire survivor again but different, and while that is partial true, there is ALOT more going on. The rpg and build variety options are great, and the meta progression/run customization are also such a refreshment from the average survivor-like. Cant wait to see what EA changes bring, but at the moment 20 hours few by and that already makes the price p worth it. I see easy 100(s?) hours over next few months or so. LOTS of content there already.
Pretty good, pretty good
Lots of mechanics and a satisfying scaling, takes a few games to learn the mechanics and the different stats but once you get the hang of it the scaling gets bonkers
I saw references to ToME and Path of Achra in the existing reviews so this was an instant purchase for me as I simply LOVE this niche where you can spend hours just theorizing over build ideas. I am just out of the refund period but so far I didn't regret my purchase at all - quite the contrary: I look forward to many more hours with this game.
Great game especially with friends. Beware the friend though that takes forever to read, will cause long standing pauses. You can tell them to turn it off, but they won't, and you'll spend forever waiting. Other than that. Awesome game.
