About
Overcome a series of challenging stages in this roguelite horde survival game by developing your power with spells across many different dimensions, including items, upgrades, talents, and more that interact with each other to produce many unique and powerful builds.
Crucible of the Forgotten combines the moment-to-moment tactical gameplay of horde survival roguelites with the depth of build crafting found in classic ARPGs and strategic evolution of the player character over a much shorter period of time. With special attention on unique mechanical interactions rather then simply combining numerical attributes, you will need to experiment and plan your strategies to succeed.
You will rapidly gain power through your choices, defining your build as you progress through the stages in the game, with sessions taking anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours.
Choose from among dozens of options on character levels, spell upgrades, talents, items, resource usage, and more to build your character the way you want. Unlock meta progression choices to further customize your play style.
At the end of most stages, face off against powerful bosses that will test your skill and push your build to its limits.

Great multiplayer survivor game. Has very fun buildcrafting.
Great game. One of the best I've played in the genre in a long time. Creator is obviously big brained. Probably a whole lotta math done on his end to make this. Tons of creative options for different builds. Hope he adds more content. Warrior/ranger classes would be cool. Update: Too much RNG. You will waste hours restarting because of RNG. You NEED specific aspects for certain builds or you will just die a few stages in. If you don't get a perfect roll by the 3rd to 4th stage you may as well restart and chalk that time up as wasted. You can play this game for hours and never get a satisfying run because of the RNG. This feels more like playing a slot game than a reverse bullet hell.
VERY VERY VERY good. Excellent co-op, endless tinkering. Slept on game and should be in every library for fans of bullet-hell-heaven-wave-survivors. It's fun, it's challenging and rewarding. Suggestions: Would like to see mechanics explained in more depth (aspects, some of the modifiers and how they interact, etc.). UI\UX could use an overhaul (add some colors\borders and that would help)! Whenever you level up in co-op, the leveling choices will spam your screen and often lead to death. Would also like to see more spell elements and damage types, weapons, etc. as the game grows. Looking forward to seeing the game develop. I am a cheap gamer and only buy stuff on discount and I happily paid full price for this game with no regrets. Bought more copies to play with my family also.
I like it. I cannot overstate how good the build crafting can get. Your build can get pretty crazy once you start dabbling in the Aspects for spells. I would say these are what defines a build mostly. They alter so much and you can even improve them. You can get things like Brutality which gives a bunch of Stun chance and lowers CD for other spells that don't have that aspect. Or even summon Mirror Images that cast the attached spell. You can get upgrades so you can place an aspect on more than one spell. Lots of choices and even a character that gets a free Aspect right at the start of a run that lets you browse the Aspect options and start with ANY one of them. Choosing another aspect will give a few options to choose from, around 8 or so. The meta progression works pretty well. At first I didn't really like it but once you unlock more of the run challenges you start to feel more in control of your build. You can get unlocks like the ability to add Dual-Cast modifier to a piece of gear without having to roll it. You can remove modifiers, lowest lvl modifier, etc. Basically lets you spend your fragments gained during a run in a more meaningful way. Runs start with your damage in the single digits and by the end of the game you're dealing millions of DPS and it's seriously balanced really well. Its balanced in a way thats challenging your build crafting and your own positioning during bosses. One of my fav things about this game is what i deem, "The Running of the Beetles". IYKYK.
Vampire Survivors meets the complexity and flavor of TOME. Will probably raise your IQ—but lots of fun in either event.
If you enjoy ARPG's this game is for you. Lots of build depth. I have personally got around 10 hours played so far and can see myself getting another 20-60 hours from this game. Fun with friends too UPDATE: Got around 50 hours out of the game. Pretty cool!
