I have no idea why a game like this feels the need to hijack your mouse sensitivity, but the built in sensitivity adjustment doesn't do anything and it makes playing the game a chore. really weird.
With all the devs taking the cheap route on UI and pixel or video poker graphics (an auto non buy for me), its refreshing to get a well done and well looking rouge game. The user interface is super clean, the coloring is great, and the pictures are grade A. The gameplay is well done too. Many options to go down with the way you want to approach things. Runs are long enough to develop a style but not too long to make the game feel like a drag. Good progression with an easy to understand concept that lets you get as complex as you want to get, that makes a 10/10 rouge game for me. Gameplay looks to be about 20-30 hours IMO. 10/10 especially at the price, well done devs.
I just decided to like vegetables
A absolute gem of a deckbuilder. As someone who enjoys both deckbuilding and farming games...but only really enjoys the crop growing part, this game is perfect. Looking forward to many more hours of this new addiction
The cozy fall art style of this game attracted me, the addicting gameplay hooked me. This is a fun game with a lot of different builds to try. Balance is all over the place in this game, some scarecrows / crops are good then some are game breaking over powered. I enjoyed this game so much, I got all the achievements.
Very good
Not for me.
有点少啊,就三关....
Fun little Roguelike Deckbuilder that starts out easy but evolves into a genuinely challenging strategy game where your only real enemies are the (un)predictable whims of nature. You fertilize soil, plant some crops, protect your leafy friends with your life (and a ludicrous amount of water), harvest them and repeat the process until you can finally pay off your loan. Progression is similar to games like Slay the Spire, as you follow a branching path up a map and choose between regular levels, shops or events to slowly build up your Crop-Deck until you reach a boss-level with particularly harsh conditions for your crops to survive and thrive. The star of the show is the satisfying upgrade system, that lets you combine duplicates into more powerful version of themselves, sometimes with their own branching upgrade paths, that lets you adapt them to your current run. This is accompanied by a TFT-style set-system that lets you earn all kind of useful boni if you build your deck around specific stategies. On top of that, you can collect a limited amount of "Scarecrows" that act as this games permanent Trinket upgrades to further tilt the conditions in your favor. In the beginning, your options of crops, scarecrows and levels can seem very limited. But the game constantly throws new unlocks for each type at you, as you keep playing the game. This includes your difficulty options, and "player characters", which act as modifiers to your basic stats (Card Draw, Scarecrow Limit, Starting Currency). The decision to lock so much of the game behind unlocks has its positives and negatives, as the first few runs can feel a little too similar at times. The flow of: [till soil -> plant crops -> water crops -> harvest crops] never really changes. This, combined with seeing the exact same cards and upgrades multiple times over the course of your first few runs, can make the game seem repetetive early on. But rest assured, your options will steadily expand. One last, and certainly very welcome addition to the game, is the option to choose if you want to play up until the final deadline of any particular level, or end it the moment you made enough money. If you choose the first option, the game will generously calculate how much resources you are passing on, by not playing the level to completion, and hands them to you with a warm handshake. This VASTLY reduces the amount of time you would otherwise have to spend farming bonus resources, while still giving you the option to do so anyway, if that's what you like, you lil' freak. A very joyful aesthetic and soundtrack completes this charming game and makes it one of my personal surprises of the year.
Excellent meta-progression (unlocking plants, scarecrows, characters and more) and satisfying roguelike loops for relatively (to the genre) short runs. Not super hard on base difficulties (you can unlock harder difficulties) but I like it a bit on the lower side to just relax with on days when I'm tired but still want to play a game. I consider this to be a complete package as-is, very simple to recommend. As always, when the demo is available I recommend starting there first!
