Took me 80+ hrs to finish this game and l can say that there are other games that respect your time and have more sense and purpose than this game. Ultimately even the main reason people bothered with this game which is the "gameplay" leaves much to be desired and is very poorly optimized. If you really want to play this game I'm going to list some cons and if they are not deal breakers for you go ahead and knock yourself off with this game LOL.
CONS:
- Combat is Randomized
when you start that game you are required to "motivate" your girls so they are willing to participate in each fight, the more motivated they are the more skills you unlock thus the more useful they are (In Theory) but in reality that is not the case as you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHOOSE which attack they go with, need a heal? well ♥♥♥♥ you your healer wants to attack, you need your tank to use her taunt? well ♥♥♥♥ you she wants to do a normal attack, you want your dps to use an ice element coz the enemy is weak to ice? well ♥♥♥♥ you she wants to absorb mana, its thematic but I can only imagine that the dev that came up with this idea got dropped on his head when he was a kid coz this is some retarded ass bullshet.
- Attack, Skills and Supports are not named Correctly
Aside from the fact that your girls decide what they wanna do, the game can't even be bothered to tell you what they are clearly going to do. when they do an action it is labeled as ATTACK, SKILL or SUPPORT but other than that you have to infer that they mean. For example sometimes they will be labeled "skill: that would hurt" and you have no idea what the hell that is until you use it, another one is "support skill:lets make you squishy" but you don't know if its physical or magical resistance debuff or what, another example "skill:everyone must die" doesn't say what it does but you assume its a massive aoe attack but its a poison skill I'm like what?
- This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Slow
This game was not optimized, like AT ALL. Battle animations take forever, and I mean forever, this game needed a speed toggle, after playing more recent games with a speed toggle this game just feels like ass to play on normal speed, I played through 75% of this game on normal speed which was a nightmare, then I was made aware that there is a way to speed up this game by basically modding it but modding. Before then I had to wait for 3 second for individual attack to resolve and 3 more seconds for a single line of text to appear, if an enemy Mass debuffs you for two stats well congrats now you have to sit there for 40 seconds just looking at pop up text describing you got debuffed and when they wear off you have to wait another 40 seconds for that to resolve.
-Swapping out characters
swapping in combat would have been a neat idea if it wasn't for the fact that it will sometimes change the skills of the people in the active party, so if you wanted to heal everybody but you wanted to swap out one character well sheeet, after that swap your healer doesn't wanna heal anymore
-Game Crashes quite a bit
I stopped counting the amount of crashes I had with this game after 10, so much so that when grinding for experience I have to do it near a save spot and just constantly save
-Exploration was designed to waste your time
In this game you have RANDOM ENCOUNTERS that mean every 5 to 10 step you get into combat and you have to deal with that, but that is not the worst offender, its the fact that you have to back track alot of the time because the game decided well you are almost at the end but we forgot something at the beginning of the map so you have to run back and deal with that and then get yo ass back to where you were before backtracking, and I could forgive this if they didn't do this for 90% of all the maps. The icing on the cake is that there is a map with a load of teleporters and when you reach the end they were like OH go back we forgot something and you have to go through that entire teleporter map all over again.
-Some Skill are hidden with invisible chests
you heard that right in this game you have a game mechanic were the girls can do combo attacks, skills, or supports but guess what they are put in random spots and they are in invisible chests that only become visible when you bump into them
-Motivation Scenes are censored
so the main reason why you bothered giving this game your attention is the fact that its got a minigame where you can motivate your characters for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles, well guess what its censored so you have to mod it to get rid of the pink smoke they put in there, hope you like downloading extra stuff to fix your game outside of steam
-You can only level up one character to her max potential
so near the end you are given a choice, which girl do you want to have all her abilities? this game actively kneecaps you in that you know that only one character will only ever have access to all their abilities, if you wanna try out the other girls AND finish the game? WELL ♥♥♥♥ YOU, reload your last save and beat this game multiple times just so you can see what abilities they get.
The TLDR version is that this game was designed to ACTIVELY waste your time with nonsense that should not have been there, the map design sucks, the backtracking sucks, the combat sucks, the only thing that does not suck in this game are the anime girls in it I'm not talking about cultured kind. The only pro in this game is that characters have field abilities that mitigate the game mechanics that they put in to waste your time but that doesn't make a game good its just makes it less annoying.
