I have a really fun time playing this game, cooking for my little friends and taking pictures of absolutely everything. And what makes it even better? You can throw everything everywhere. It's delicious, funny, and cute as hell. I definitely recommend it if you need a little sweetness in your life right now. (Try the free demo. The raccoon will do the rest.) Edit: It's too short! I need MORE.

I wanted to save this game for a spookier day but after trying it out I couldn't put it away. It's not as much of a scary game as it is eerie and sometimes a little adorable. Honestly, I picked up this game because it had cute creatures and a kitchen that reminded me of the one in Courage the Cowardly Dog's house. The art for the food, the small mechanics of the fridge/pantry which make life easier, and the flow of the game are my favorite. Other than the creatures which are given their own personality and stay once you befriend them. It's a relatively simple game with 0 bugs which will take you about 3 hours to complete 100%. I still believe this would be the perfect cozy game for October and I hope I can find more games just like this.

Creature Kitchen is a short cozy game with a blend of cute and eerie aesthetics (made me feel a lil on edge at first when I played wondering if something would jump out at me). Making friends through food is a fun concept, and the story is very heartfelt. The little puzzles and riddles are enjoyable without ever becoming frustrating, making for a relaxing experience from start to finish. My only real complaint is that I wish it was longer I was having such a good time that I didn't want it to end. Even so, I have zero complaints about the experience itself, and it was absolutely worth the time for such a sweet and satisfying ending. Worth the playthrough if you are looking for something with this type of look and feel.

This is my favorite Indie Game of 2026, and only "Favorite Indie" instead of "Favorite Overall" because I caught up on some big GOTY Nominee AAA titles from 2025 and 2024. Creature Kitchen is an amazing example of something that is polished and charming can leave you feeling satisfied in 2-4 hours of gameplay. I heavily applaud the team behind this and I've bought 5 or 6 copies to gift to my friends, because this experience is meant to be shared. Way to turn a horror theme on its head and give us something great.
