About
Cradle of the Dark Brood is a dark fantasy incremental breeding game about building power through inheritance, mutation, automation, and conquest.
You begin as something trapped outside the rules of the world, able to act only through the creatures you create. Breed new offspring, preserve stronger bloodlines, cull weaker results, and shape your brood into a force capable of surviving beyond the cradle.
Every generation can push your numbers higher. Improve core traits such as Lethality, Vitality, Durability, Motility, and Synapticity, then use those gains to unlock new systems, stronger roles, and more dangerous forms of progression.
Breed and refine a growing brood through incremental stat progression.
Select kings, queens, soldiers, scavengers, and other specialized roles to support your expansion.
Discover mutations that alter your creatures and open new evolutionary paths.
Unlock automation for breeding, culling, promotion, conquest, and support systems as your brood matures.
Expand your abode with upgrades that improve incubation, capacity, inheritance, scavenging, and combat readiness.
Send soldiers into conquest across caves, wastelands, black shores, ruined kingdoms, dragon domains, void passages, and divine realms.
Defeat enemies, clear zones, gather resources, and recover new biological advantages from the world.
Develop research and support roles.
Pursue long-term prestige through Apotheosis, carrying power across runs and reshaping future growth.
Uncover dark lore as the brood spreads through a wounded world that refuses your existence.
Cradle of the Dark Brood is built for players who enjoy layered incremental progression, creature optimization, unfolding systems, and the slow satisfaction of turning a fragile beginning into an overwhelming biological empire.

Took me about 30 hours to complete the game at a relaxed pace exploring, and it was great! I enjoyed the story, and how it unfolded as you and your brood advanced. The gameplay power loop was fun. Overall I had a lot of fun and to me it was certainly worth the $4.99.
Rather lovely and well-paced incremental game with pretty decent mechanics and thought put into it. The story is okay, but at least there's a story and lore and all that. Automation comes about when you need it to, and pretty much everything can be automated after enough time. It's fairly short for an incremental, but I feel I got more than my money's worth, and it doesn't outstay its welcome. My one complaint is that a really need feature opens up right before the game ends, and I beat the game without being able to explore it much organically. Depending on how you focus your prestiges, you might be able to unlock it earlier to make it more useful to your run, but I wish I had more time to really see its impact. One thing I'd love is a proper infinite mode of infinitely scaling difficulty that lets you stress and test your build, and push as long as you want.
I like it. Stable, smooth and the mechanics make sense. Fun incremental, idler game to have in the background. Real sense of progression and the theme is great.
There's about two days of content in this interesting combination of incremental mechanics woven together with a lightweight story. The mechanics are novel, and combine in interesting ways, but the execution feels like it robs some of the gameplay significance from them. For an example, you breed your creatures, selecting them based on 5 different stats that improve with each generation and affect the creature in different ways to make them suitable for different tasks. This sounds cool, but any thoughts of specializing on certain roles as a gameplay mechanic is immediately undercut by the fact that you kinda need all five equally for independent requirements, so there's no way that having high intelligence meaningfully compensates for a shortfall of dexterity. You just need to be good at everything. Specialization isn't rewarded. Then in fairly short order you automate selecting for higher stats, and that just looks at sum total stats, so you can't even specialize if you wanted. So the five numbers really just collapse down to the average power number, the importance of stats for different roles pretty much disappears into meaninglessness, and brute-forcing generations becomes the dominant solution by far. Similarly there's a sort of biological tech tree later in the form of evolution. Each species gives different bonuses to each of the five traits, plus a general purpose one. There's no real point in picking one over the others. You can choose one at a time and they retain passive unlocks, so you just go through them all one at a time until you've unlocked everything. There's no strategy to the choice, it's just "more is better" again. The two areas where there is some decision-making are the prestige choice between order and chaos, that makes a meaningful difference in how you play in the mid-game, although again it's mostly an order of unlocks thing and once you've maxed out either chaos or order the other side completes very rapidly due to scaling - which nicely removes some grind. The other area is the base layout tetris, where despite my earlier statements about not being able to specialize towards different stats does actually let you apply a fair focus on those things if you wanted. There's just no real reason to, and a balanced approach seems best. Flipping between a breeding layout and a combat layout can help in the mid-game, but by the late game you can afford to just have everything you need. All in all, I had fun, and it was worth the price, so it's a recommendation if you like innovative incrementals. I do feel that it could have been more, if some of the systems weren't undercutting each other quite so much.
A fine game, has bugs, needs balancing and the story seems to be written by AI. But the game is ok.
Bello! un pò complicato all'inizio ma poi si automatizza il tutto e diventa piè facile! consigliato al 100%
nice idle game it is quite active at start but you can get auto options as progessing the game it is very challenging and funny
Very fun game the concept is neat and while it might not give you exactly what your expecting it gives you some very suprsingly cool things
