A simple tower defense with ten stages to beat to unlock endless mode, but limited towers and content make the experience feel small and unfinished. The game begins with a world map and ten levels that must be completed in order. There’s no story or larger goal driving the experience. Your only real objective is to clear all the stages and unlock the final endless mode. Before that, however, you go through a short tutorial level that explains the basics. It follows the familiar template of standard tower defense games, so anyone who has played the genre before shouldn’t have trouble picking it up. The goal in each stage is simple: stop enemies from reaching the other end of the map or your base. Every enemy that slips through costs you one heart, and when you run out, the stage ends in failure. Entry points for enemies are clearly marked, and there can be several of them on a map. Each one also shows a timer indicating when the next enemy will spawn, which means there are no sudden surprises. Defense is handled by placing towers on predetermined nodes across the map. This removes the freedom to position them wherever you want, limiting placement to specific spots. Money is another limitation, since every tower must be purchased before it can be deployed. The price depends on the tower type, but you earn coins by defeating enemies, opening chests they sometimes drop, and interacting with certain clickable objects scattered around the stage. Each level contains a few of these objects, so it pays to click on anything that looks suspicious, although most of them are simply piles of trash. Enemies can also drop green goo that fills a special attack meter. Once the bar is full, you can unleash a powerful attack that hits enemies across the entire map. It’s best saved for moments when large groups appear at once or when some manage to slip past your final line of defense. The more enemies you defeat, the faster the meter fills for another use. Your arsenal begins with three basic towers. The first is a squad of crab warriors that block and fight enemies directly on the path. The second is a ranged fish shooter that can also target airborne enemies, which the melee crabs completely ignore. The third tower fires electricity that damages enemies while slowing them down. Each tower can be upgraded up to three times, boosting its stats and unlocking additional abilities at the final level. For example, the shooter tower eventually leaves behind an acid pool, while the electric tower starts spawning mines. Another ability comes from animal cards that can be summoned anywhere on the map. Their usage is limited, but they recharge over time, allowing them to be used repeatedly throughout a stage. New animals and towers are unlocked through the store on the main map using stars as currency. Most stars are earned by completing a stage for the first time, usually five per level, though they can also be purchased with gems. Like coins, gems can occasionally be found in chests, but the system feels more like unnecessary padding since there’s little reason to engage with it. This becomes especially noticeable due to the surprisingly small amount of content. In addition to the three starting towers, you unlock one for free after completing an early stage and can purchase one more with stars. That leaves you with only five towers in total. The selection of animal cards is slightly better. Besides the one you start with, there are six more that can be purchased. Even so, the number still feels limited. On the positive side, you can only equip three animals at once, which at least introduces some decision-making. Tower slots are capped at six, but since there are only five towers available, it gives the impression that something is missing, almost as if the game is still in early access or simply represents the first chapter of a much larger experience.
Приємна гра на декілька годин.Єдине що, ну дуже коротка .)
Crabby Fishes reminds me a lot of Bloons TD6, the most popular TD that I can't stand. I actually played this longer than Bloons 6, so I'd consider it better. Fast paced, although I'm more of a slow paced strategic type of TD player, although light strategy is involved in Crabby Fishes. This one is for the masses. Trust me, 90% of gamers will love this. Towers are upgradeable and you place the towers on the red buttons while receiving currency to clean up trash. Colorful, great hand drawn characters and maps that remind me of Saturday cartoons from the old days. If you enjoy Bloons TD6, you'll enjoy this TD. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/towerdefensegamesrated
Their first game with a lot of promise. It has already proved to be pretty good TD title. Awaiting patiently for what they have in store for us. :)
I recently started playing Crabby Fishes on Steam, and I have to say — I really enjoyed it! The gameplay feels smooth and engaging, keeping you interested from the very beginning. It’s easy to get into, but still offers enough depth to stay entertaining over time. What stood out to me the most is the design — it’s absolutely fantastic. The visuals are vibrant, creative, and full of personality. You can really see the attention to detail, especially in the underwater world and character design. The music and sound are also a big plus. The soundtrack perfectly matches the atmosphere of the game, making the whole experience more immersive and relaxing. I also really appreciate the idea behind the game, especially its connection to environmental themes and the ocean. It adds meaning and makes the experience feel more thoughtful and unique. Overall, Crabby Fishes is a fun, stylish, and well-crafted game. Great job to the developers — I’m looking forward to seeing more!
Яскрава гра щоб скоротити трошки часу. Дякую за переклад на мою мову
Fun and fast-paced tower defense that's an ocean-themed cousin of Kingdom Rush. The hand-drawn sea creatures have personality and the in-game music is often off the funk chart. It successfully captures that 'hanging on for dear life and just making it' which is a hard thing for TD games to balance right. Could be a bit longer but there's replay value to unlocking all the towers/specials and an endless mode.
