You simply took what I love about a simple bullet heaven and threw away everything I hate. Cozy Space Survivors is a straightforward, simple bullet heaven with no over-complicated systems or everything locked behind a grindy meta-progression. Just a simple 2-hour experience that doesn't overstay its welcome Highly recommended for a single evening gaming session
Amazing game, enjoying it very much on the steam deck
:D A very chill, very cute game. More of this please.
A Superb Little Pick Up and Play Rogue Game. Chirpy, Quirky and just Simple Asteroid Style Fun to be had.
It's a game that respects your time and that's pretty rare IMO. It's also fun. I went in expecting yet *another* Survivors-like that overstayed it's welcome and that's not what I got. GG
Super cozy. Super chill. Super chocolatey.
I bought this in a bundle for 60 cents and now I feel like I stole from the dev! What a delightful little game 😊 Gameplay is what matters most in a game like this, and I can say that it nailed it! The main game loop has you survive the map for 10 minutes with each ship to unlock the next, for 5 ships total. Additionally, there are some quests that you can finish again with each ship. The cool thing about this is that the ships are so significantly different from each other, as opposed to just a reskin with speed/power adjustments, that after the second one you kinda relearn the game from the ground up with each one. This keeps the game fresh and challenging throughout, I was impressed at how balanced it felt, I think people who say it's repetitive stopped before trying all the ships. It would be a recommendation just for the above, but on top of it: - It really does care about your time and avoids wasting it. Continuing the point above, if it was 30 minute runs and 40 hours long, it would definitely become boring indeed. However, it is exactly as long as it needs to be, I like finishing games, but I can't finish things that are more than 15-20 hours, and even that is a struggle (poor Vampire Survivors is sitting at 20%). This took me 4-5 hours to completely finish everything at a chill pace and I feel like I could replay it at any time and still have fun. You could probably finish it in 3 hours if you rush it. - The quests in a Survivaton (I guess that's what we call them now according to Poncle, though I really REALLY hoped garlic-like would catch on 😁) are a great idea to make runs a little more purposeful. I chuckled at "Lente's boat" as soon as I saw the title as I knew what that one would be ("Spilled!" crossover). - The pixelated art is really nice and matches the vibe of the game so well, although I understand this can be subjective. I'm personally a sucker for good pixel-art. - Cute space cuteness - Chocolate! Issues I've noticed: On Steam Deck the game would crash/quit after every run, a few seconds into the game over screen. Something must be wrong with the Linux build, but you can force it to use Proton in the game's properties on Steam, which will download and run the windows version that doesn't do this. Thinky (the 5th ship) correctly goes after XP "portals" (that bring all outstanding XP to their position) when in XP hunting mode. However it completely ignores the equivalent Chocolate portals when in Choco hunting mode, making it incredibly frustrating to get them, if at all possible. This seems like a very easy fix, rebuilding the game would be more trouble than fixing this, but I'd like to see it addressed. And if it is, Thinky is also not able to specifically targer the Utah Teapot, it would make sense to add it to the quests hunting mode when it spawns.
Super süßes Spiel. Angenehm kurz.
