I picked up Cow Girls on a whim during a sale, and I’m honestly shocked by how much personality this game has. What hooked me first was the art direction: the character designs strike the perfect balance between cute and stylish, and the animations—especially during the special attacks—are way smoother than I was expecting from an indie title. Gameplay-wise, the lasso-and-dash mechanic is ridiculously fun. The moment it clicked for me was during the Chapter 3 canyon chase, where you have to rope enemies mid-air while swapping rails on horseback. It feels chaotic in the best possible way, and when you string combos together the game rewards you with some hilarious voice lines from the girls. The writing is also surprisingly good. Each cowgirl has a distinct personality, and the banter during missions made me genuinely laugh. My favorite is Jessie, whose deadpan sarcasm during the milk-heist mission had me replaying lines just to hear them again. Performance has been smooth on my mid-range laptop (RTX 3060), and the soundtrack deserves special mention—twangy western vibes mixed with energetic battle themes that weirdly slap. If you enjoy stylish action games with charm, humor, and memorable characters, Cow Girls is absolutely worth it. I went in expecting something silly, but I walked away hooked. More people should be playing this.
