the controls suck, and the survival doesnt exist.
What a great building game! I received this game for free from the dev to test the Rift + Touch implementation and I will say this game scores a big win for Rift users. If you ever wanted an adult Minecraft to relax and bring your imaginations to life, than this is your game. In Country of One, you are able to glide from mountains with a parachute, teleport, or walk to traverse a large world where you are able to use your surroundings to create whatever your heart desires. The mechanics are easy to pick up with Touch models shown that depict what each button does. I wish more devs would use this idea. It simplifies the learning process so you can quickly get in the game to enjoy the great graphics and start building. I really like the passing of time (day and night) and the rain storm that made it enjoyable to just stand in my newly built home and take in the scenary. I plan on spending a lot of time in this game and I look forward to what updates are added to this great start to what will be an amazing game. I highly recommend this game to Rift + Touch users. My system is an i5 4690k, MSI 970, and 8 gb ram = everything runs butter smooth and looks great on medium quality settings
The suspense of trying to figure out how to craft a huge vertical beach hut... ok, 7 wooden poles stuck end to end, with a bamboo pedestal on top, with your trusty shotgun in hand, watching the sun slowly glow through the sky, awaiting the inevitable nightfall, and zombie/creature rampage, is just that... suspense (early March, will update review once Survival's in) But it's suspense, done so well. The graphics and ambience are beautiful. The in-game Radio's are really great, with up to date, real world news. I was lying on my couch, listening to waves crashing in a storm, with world politics playing calmly in the background, when I realised almost an hour went by with my eyes closed and my headset still on. The atmosphere is amazing already, and I gotta ask, to make it friendly to 'all' gamesters, that Survival Mode becomes an 'Option', and not mandatory, but personally I can't wait for Survival Mode.
Maybe in time the game will add more, but unless this is really your thing or you want to support the development, I can't recommend it in its current state.
Der Ansatz einer Sandbox-Welt ist zwar gut, aber die Umsetzung grauenvoll. Furchtbare Steuerung, Glitches bis zum Abwinken und dazu sehr hässliche Grafik. 9€ sind dafür massiv übertrieben. i think the developer left
Game is off to a good start and with more updates especially ability to save progress this will be something special and unique for VR.
A great way to play a 'survival' game in VR. Top knotch so far, can't wait to see what comes next!
I'm writing this review within a week of the game releasing in early access. In it's current state it isn't a game much less a comlete game, but it shows promise. You have a relatively small island that you can explore and build on. The island appears to be randomly generated as I've been on both snow covered and desert like islands. Don't buy this game.
A good start for a building sim. I have no qualms paying the current sale price of 6 dollars to support this endeavor. I like the higher detail of textures, so far no slow frame rate issues. The radio was a nice touch, an option for the volume to gradually fade the further away one is from it might be nice. I like the ability to use shovel and seed to grow crops. Perhaps further down the road using the pipes for irrigation? Other suggestions as the developer seems open are Stars at night? Object import? terrain deformation? The mechanics for building are intuitive, solid and fun. If you are into the builder niche get it, if not look elsewhere.
