Reviews
I don't usually post reviews on games nor do I post them early into my playtime, but I had to make an exception for this one. I've played tons of roguelikes and roguelites. They're among my favorite genres of games, but lately they've become saturated with a lot of lazy design and needless complexity. The reason why I'm writing this review this soon is because Cosmic Run doesn't fall victim to this and stands out among the rest in multiple ways. The artstyle is great, a real breath of fresh air. It reminds me of the PS2 era CGi when it was just getting big. It makes the game unique, visually recognizable and striking. The characters are fun, their quips during gameplay are also something I rarely see these days. It adds to worldbuilding, something this genre can struggle with due to how much focus is on gameplay. Gameplay is nothing new by itself, but what I can say is that everything around it is simplified and easily understandable. I'll put it like this, What I really hate about roguelikes/roguelites is when I have to open up 20 stupid wiki articles just to figure out how to optimize a run because descriptions in game don't tell me exactly what a weapon, upgrade or enemy does. Well, Cosmic Run DOES tell you what exactly a weapon or upgrade does and enemies don't need to be explained because you can figure out what they do within the first 15 seconds of encountering them. What adds to this is that runs are relatively short and don't overextend into figuring out how many frame drops you can get by applying 20 different effects to your screen. Simple, quick, easy. Hop in, do a few runs, hop out. I recommend Cosmic Run even after playing it for a relatively short time. I'll continue playing it after this review is posted and I can't wait to see what the devs will bring to the game in future updates. Support this game and the studio. It's worth your time and money.
Loving the game art, it looks amazing! Its lots of fun to play, has a few small bugs here and there, but nothing too major for me so far at least. I think if we could also use the zogark coins to reroll the weapon/attribute upgrades you get when leveling up could give a bit more control over your loadout. Also perhaps having the only new weapons coming every few set levels and then in between only weapon upgrades. This could help build out a more robust meta gameplay as we could first try rerolling for the right weapons that allows different playstyles and then double down on that by upgrading just that one or two weapons a lot at the beginning. Really looking forward to what updates will come and maybe some new weapons :D
Really enjoying the Cosmic Run! The art style is fantastic and the gameplay loop is very addictive. I really like the atmosphere. Keep up with the great work!
Love the game, artwork is nice, very addicting, honestly can't stop playing it love the different levels and different environments that you are fighting in. Only thing i would change would be level of grinding you need to keep up with so you can progress further it takes a lottt of time haha, other than that pretty cool and fun game. Recommending it to everyone :D
Fun Action-Rougelite! Fans of the genre will very much enjoy this Game. I did have some crashes on release, but those have since been fixed. I recommend that anyone give the demo a try!
After numerous crashes I was able to get past the first level. Since I have played about 2 hours without issues so now that I have had a chance to play I will recommend the game because it is quite fun, however hopefully the developer investigates the issues and the game gets more stable. Original Review: Well I want to like the game, however I have yet to complete a single game. ALWAYS CRASHES! Roughly around 8 minutes but it doesn't really care when. While what I do play I enjoy I absolutely cannot recommend this game in the slightest. UNPLAYABLE LITERALLY
Good first impression. Motivating progression. Immersive sound design. Looking forward to tackling Level 2.
Fun little Game! Easy to play. Not so easy to beat. Nice humor. Keeps you entertained for a few hours.
Super fun game for quick sessions inbetween other tasks or a quick round on the side with some nice backgrounds and effects.
I had fun with this. Upgrade your ship and fight thousands of "cute" Aliens until the screen explodes. No frame rate issues for me. A lot going on. Many weapons and items to try out. Survive Space!
