Reviews
If you enjoy cosmic horror, Lovecraft, etc. you will probably enjoy this game. Is it a walking sim? Yeah, mostly, but with just enough other stuff going on to keep it interesting. I'm buying the developers other games right now. It pretty amazing that this was created by one guy. The vibe is excellent. Even got me with a couple minor jump scares, which almost never happens. Thumbs up from me. $17 well spent. Looking forward to seeing more from Alessandro Guzzo.
COSMIC FEAR
Sequel to "THE ALIEN CUBE" which is that one follows the interesting "THE LAND OF PAIN" and again, developed by Alessandro Guzzo, CF is more to my liking and the best of the 3 games yet. It is more mysterious and the adventure do last longer. Maybe too long? At times, there was a few instances that I was wondering where to go or what to find in order to progress the game. These instances were kind of annoying but the biggest irritant would be the many back and forth you gotta do for objectives. It increases boring padding! The Lovecraftian story was the BEST of dev's previous games and it do follows both of the other games with many connections to it. The mystery of exploration as the story unfolds is what this game is all about. What the hell is going on? Who the hell are you this time? Who are you, here? Where are you? Many questions with a few answers! Like previous games, there are a few short chase sequences that I found very annoying and impossible to outrun the entity. You just had to be lucky and have it spawned in the complete opposite area than you, then you just hold W and SHIFT till you get past it. (I wish you had a run toggle for this game). The visuals are very good! It is the strongest aspect of all games by this dev. The sounds and music does the job quite well too but again, much better than previous games. Our protagonist have a voice actor (just like TAC) and it is fine. Gameplay is mostly a walking simulator at times but you have to do many interactions with certain items, in order to progress the story. If you found many secrets in your first playthrough, there is an area near the very end that you can unlock a door and get some kind of a good reward? I haven't found that but from what I've read, it seems underwhelming so I don't think having a secondary playthrough is that needed. I haven't encountered bugs nor technical issue in Cosmic Fear. The game supports perfectly Ultrawide monitor, so that is a huge pro in my book!
OVERALL & RECOMMENDATION:
In my opinion, it is the best experience so far compared to "The Land of Pain" and "The Alien Cube". Cosmic Fear is truly the best of the trilogy. While the previous ones were enjoyable, Cosmic Fear upped the goods further. It's clearly not perfect and I did find the alien chases annoying and especially the required padding to progress the objectives and story. Just like The Alien Cube, there is a demo for Cosmic Fear so give this a shot! I would recommend you play previous games in order to have a better understanding of the trilogy but you can always watch some story/lore video out there! To the dev, keep making games! They're getting better and better!

You HAD to have an unavoidable creature chase , thus ruining the atmosphere and making the game un-enjoyable. Immediately quit and requested a refund. Shame, because I was enjoying a lot.
After the first 2 hours: I love it. Great visuals and athmosphere. The horror is really good. Absoulte recommendation. Only downside: There is only an option to reduce head bobbing. You can't disable it. There is still head bobbing and it sadly gives me motion sickness. PLEASE patch this. Please give me the option to disable it completely.
F***, where do I start? Enjoy three hours of a boring walking sim with cheap jump scares and a drawn-out goose chase. Don't JUMP down small slopes, you'll break your f****** legs because we have pretzel sticks for bones, I guess. The story is confusing, cliche at some parts and hard to follow. It's easy to get lost and miss key items that you need to progress. No, I'm not one of those yellow paint needers, but I don't enjoy walking in circles because I missed the 2 inch key that takes up three pixels hidden somewhere in Timbuktu.
The game punishes you for fall damage and then expects you to know that you have to jump out of a moving spaceship HUNDREDS OF FEET IN THE AIR because we all of a sudden developed the ability to do a superhero landing.
Also had a lot of issues with lag and frame rate, despite owning a decent pc. Overall, a disappointment, I bought a bundle of all three games made by the developer and I don't plan on playing any of them. I love alien themed games/movies/stories, but this didn't tickle that part of my brain.
游戏氛围还行 指引比较差 没有什么突脸恐怖 主打氛围心理恐怖 画质巨好
Атмосфера и сюжет топ, много интересных пасхалок
So far so good. Anyone who liked Guzzo's first two games like I did, should also like this one. The graphics took a big leap forward in this one too.
So atmospheric and so well designed. The visuals of this games truly immerses you into the story line, and drags you into tension and curiosity of the main character. I played the demo and instantly knew I had to have it. I easily thought this game was going to be $30-$40. SO WORTH THE PRICE. Fantastic Job Dev!
Immersive, beautiful, suspenseful, great sound design & accompanied with decent lore. I was drawn by the trailer but hesitant from recent purchases and feeling let down by other titles. Tried the demo and decided to go for it, I do not regret this purchase, would recommend! Runs great in 4k too. The only thing I can think that would make this better would be a co-op experience
