The Backrooms Origins

There are so many branching paths that I'll probably never get out of the Backrooms again.

I reached "Insert new tape" and it brought me to the menu. I can't put in new tape.Did I win? I really like this one. It's raw. I am shocked I found the third elevator. These maze style layout's are really exceptional. I constantly felt tense. I would like to request a change of foot sound please, to Rug/Carpet sound. I feel like I am missing something. Do I have to find tapes?

Finished both chapter 1 and 2. A really fun realistic backrooms game with very interesting level designs for varying types of level 0. Overall amazing incredible unity backrooms game, really fun with scary shadow creatures and upside down structures! Looking forward to new chapters and for different types of levels in the backrooms lore

UPDATE: game isn't as fun as i thought and is actually boring, nice level design but all of the levels are all the same in design and not much to it just go from one end to an elevator to the next level that looks similar to the first and so on till it just ends with nothing more to it. I won't be playing this one again it is going in to the black void of terrible backrooms games i have listed.

game's jank AF. the turning and the movement sucks. also all this game is, is a maze walking sim! all you do is walk around a level 0 maze and follow exit signs to the exit elevator. also after the third elevator it sends you back to the main menu. doesn't match the screenshots and description at all. Unique and expanding story: nope Realistic graphics and ambience: hell nah Scary sound design: the only sound you got is you walking and a VHS static sound First person experience: that's the only true thing about the description although the first person is janky. all together: not worth the $4.99 DON'T GET UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIST YOUR MONEY! There's plenty of better backrooms games for the same price.

Not the worst backrooms game i've played, but not very great either. First 2 tapes are just mazes with barely any variety or any points of interests in them. Third tape brings in some environmental variety, but all the levels are really short. One thing this game does really well is that it makes you feel lost as theres barely any guiding elements.

It's... okay. I can't recommend it in its current state with the first two tapes released. Each tape has 3 areas. All 6 areas are just variations of backrooms level 0. The second and third areas of tape 2 at least have some cool and different designs, but it's still all just level 0. It is a walking simulator and I saw no evidence of entities. But that's how I prefer my backrooms games, so for me this is a positive, mostly. I like the walking sim aspect, but this needs a lot more variation in level design. Enough with level 0 already, please. And where is this "unique and expanding story" that the description mentions? I can do without it, but since it's advertised, it ought to be there. And there really needs to be a way to turn off that bounce/wobble while walking. It's unbearable after a few minutes. Another positive is the ambiance. This game really captures the backroom ambiance quite well, with that feeling of loneliness that's somehow simultaneously tense and calming. Nice job on that. But overall I can't recommend this game until more variation is added and that annoying movement wobble/bounce can be disabled.
