So let me be frank, if you want a boxing management game? You and I both know you dont have many options. This one is good. It is still early, it is still flawed and god it can be annoying but it is so fun. I spent about 13 hours with the demo before buying the game pretty much as soon as it came out and want to support this dev so lets be real. This feels a lot like world boxing manager but 3d, including (at least to me) a lot of poorly explained systems. I have power 14, it says it goes up by 1.4! Ive been training this boxer on power only for the full year, and its still at 14. Its not explained anywhere at all or shown whats going on. I assume its going up to 100 then going to 15 maybe? Every contract offer ive made has had a 5% chance of success, every last one of them. For reasons unknown. The events are kinda all the same, there is no real variation between a few different events. Once you get your boxer/staff to 100 it doesnt matter but you still get multiple a week. Speaking of weeks, its best to train your boxers for a week at a time (one of the hints say) but you can skip 5 days, two weeks, a month, or up until the next fight. There are so many flaws i could go on and on, but i reccomend this game still? Why? Its fun. Hands down, its one of the best boxing management games ive ever played. Like Leather, its got the details you need, its got the details you want. It has the attachment to the different characters as you rise up in the ranks. I audibly cheer when i win a fight, i was streaming the demo to my friends who stopped playing their own games and we all cheered when we won. It needs work, it needs to get cleaned up. I played only rags to riches (What i assume is the hardest start?) Which is what i wanted. There is no clear "Reccomended" Start that explicitly states which one includes a tutorial. But if you are into these genre even a little bit, you will enjoy this but it will require patience. Buy it and join us and support the dev!

A frustratingly shallow boxing management game Corner Kings Boxing Tycoon has a decent premise, but the actual gameplay feels incredibly underdeveloped. For a game about managing boxers, the fact that the fighters don't seem to have meaningful boxing styles is a massive problem. Everyone feels interchangeable, which makes building a stable of fighters far less interesting than it should be. The writing doesn't help matters either. The game is littered with spelling mistakes, and the conversations with your boxers quickly become repetitive and robotic. Instead of making your fighters feel like actual personalities, it often feels like you're talking to the same cardboard cut-out over and over again. The biggest disappointment is the fights themselves. There seems to be very little you can actually do to influence or change the outcome, so a lot of it feels like you're just sitting there watching numbers play out. To make matters worse, every fight looks and feels almost exactly the same. There's the foundation of a good boxing tycoon game here, but at the moment it feels shallow, repetitive, and lacking the depth needed to make you care about your fighters or the results. Boxing is supposed to be about styles making fights, but apparently everyone forgot to tell Corner Kings Boxing Tycoon.
Swing and a miss. having played the ancient Boxin manager on the comodore back in the day I expected a more polished, engaging version of that beloved relic. This game is clinical, no engagement with your characters, training, setting up a fight is much searching and hassle. You have to find everything out (cluttered interface, unclear where is the hiring, firing, arranging, training and streamlined coupling with right trainers functionality. They do have a match trainer with trainingskill button now, but it assigns the wrong trainer. Hiring trainers, what your budget is (or not, you can just build up debt with no problem) is unclear. The fights are without soul and no real information except for some stats. This game is a total loss off effort and I can't see how they can fix it on this base. Too bad, I really, really was looking forward to it. So many things not in place. So many things to fix on a poor basis of a game. I cannot see this improve to a playable and engaging experience. Stay away is my sincere advice.
This is a solo dev who did a good job in a space that is usually very bad. Almost all of these types of games are text or lacking in content. This is 3d fighting, yes it is simple but 3d but SOOOO much better then empty text. You also get to participate in the press conference before the fight and make comments. Basic management game in the space, you are not fighting, you are managing a gym, setting up contracts, hiring, firing, managing training and watching the fights is option but if you do you can comment on them. The game just released, so expect some bugs and needed polish, but a lot of things will be added in the future, including doing your own promotions which is almost like getting a 2nd game free. The roadmap looks fantastic If you like business mgmt sims and if you like being able to manage your own boxers then this a must, especially being able to enjoy seeing a solo dev delivery a quality product with time, it is a little rough right now, I'd recommend buying, playing for a bit to get the taste and excitement up and then either waiting a bit for updates or just push through what the game lacks and focus on the fun parts. The Dev has good response times, good community engagement and the foundation to make a truly great game if supported by his player base.
Really good bones, developer seems adamant about patching and updating in the discord. So, expect this one to get better over time. But as is, it's a great game for the price.
In my opinion - currently the best and most promising boxing manager out there. I've already put a lot of hours into the demo, so I've been following Corner King for a while now. One thing that has been really consistent from the demo all the way to release is how much the dev actually listens to feedback... you can give feedback/report bugs on Discord. Problems actually get looked at and fixed really quickly, which is honestly pretty impressive. Since the game just released (and I believe it's the developers first game), there are obviously still some small bugs and things that aren't quite perfect yet. But nothing serious or game-breaking from what I've experienced, and fixes are coming very regularly. I'm really curious to see where this game goes from here. The roadmap looks really promising and theres already a lot of potential here. For the current price, the value for money is honestly hard to beat. If you're into boxing or management games, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Really happy I finally found a game in this niche that I actually want to keep playing. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
I will recommend this game with a *huge* asterisk: IF it continues to be developed this COULD be a fantastic game. It has the bones to be superb. As it stands right now, in Early Access, it's a mess of bugs and is almost unplayable. I don't like giving harsh reviews to indy devs or EA games: so I am tentatively recommending this IN THE HOPES that it will be developed and polished from a simple rock to a true gem. It has the potential, but it isn't there yet.
Corner King Boxing Tycoon is the Boxing Manager Sim you've been waiting years for. It has the makings of a very deep system including Gym development, boxing rivalries, a fair amount of stats and financial management. The boxing world is deep and there are relationships and training camps to manage. There are many staff decisions to make. There are prospects to scout and future champions to groom. Upon launch of course there are bugs to be ironed out and features that aren't quite working as intended yet but there is a lot of potential. Support the dev! I've been playing all day off and on and the game loop means you are attached to your boxers since you are nurturing their careers fairly closely. The gaming industry really lacks good Gym Management Boxing titles so if this can get better fast, it could be a great addition to the niche. Huge thumbs up for these reasons, inspite of some of the challenges this vanilla iteration of the game betrays. The game is immersive even with these bugs and bare-bone features. I like where this is going, A LOT. Comparing your fighters to other fightrs and your gym to other gyms is quite engrossing here. You have some agency in moulding a boxer to your preferences and their true potential which is revelead over time. Making corner decisison in the actual fights feels impactful and somewhat realistic. Going from a new gym with no status to one of the best in the industry is going to be quite a ride!
needs a little work. but also worth playing / supporting
