About
Step into the shoes of Coral, one of the last survivors of a failed mission to colonize an unknown planet, and explore what remains of the mothership, the Crystal Mountain, now a derelict wreck shrouded in flickering lights, metallic echoes, and unsettling sounds. But you're not alone: alien creatures, oozing black masses with a single red eye, roam the ruins.
No explicit missions, no arrows pointing the way. Your curiosity is your guide: explore freely and follow the hidden clues scattered throughout the world. You'll need to piece together traces and fragments of the past to uncover the truth. Nothing is as it seems, each discovery may reveal unexpected connections and unlock secrets waiting to be found.

one of the better games i've played great design
This is a very odd little game. I picked it up on a whim and I'm in love with in. For the price is it absolutely worth dipping in. Pros: The aesthetics are gorgeous. Every enviroment is crisp and different. Even on the same floor different areas feel like this suitably alien world. The combat is simple but engaging. There's a wide variety of enemies and learning how to avoid their attacks and stay alive is consistently fun. There is a "hint system" in game. Consisting of various memories you can unlock that show people who came before you exploring the world. Paying attention to these helps you figure out secrets and new paths (with a few small exceptions.) Like most souls-likes all the lore is built into the items you pick up and some of it is quite interesting. Each bit fills out more of the world. Neutral: I am honestly stuck. I have a memory hint for a specific door and I have no idea what to do to get past it. I've ask in the forums for help and maybe the dev will make the hint slightly clearer. Cons: There is one section on the first map that's honestly kind of a pain to get to and it holds an item I don't have the ability to get to you. All in all an excellent game. I am quite surprised at the fun I'm having, especially for the price point. Once I get past my little hump I can't wait to finish it.
Having beaten a run-through of this, I've gotta say, it's a fun little indie project that definitely has some neat ideas! The controls felt a bit odd at first, but are fully customizable, the abilities are decent little combos, and altogether I had fun with it! My only lasting gripe was that some of the background elements get in the way of movement in a way that is frustrating, especially when some of them (like the glass pipes or tubes) blend in and can get you caught on them during rapid movement, leading to some frustrating deaths. But death is pretty forgiving in this, so hard to be too upset!
Strange but interesting little game. It handles almost like a twin-stick shooter, with a strong sense of atmosphere. Worth a look for such a reasonable price.
稍微玩了一下,主要认为指引感觉没有一样,地图也不太好看懂,还是有点难度,风格美术还是可以的,怪物设计还可以,但是感觉操作的这个角色不怎么好看
Beautifully esoteric. Very much like TUNIC, if you need a comparison. It's its own world with its own rules that challenges you to figure it out. The memory system is completely unique. The combat leaves a bit to be desired but eventually makes up for it by becoming faster paced. It's a bit of a rough start only because you have to learn not only where to go but what you can actually do to get there. Art is a little rough around the edges but I find it endearing still. Boss music is fantastic Only 90 minutes in but I had to leave a review inspiring others to give it a try hopefully. Full disclosure: I got this on a sale for $1 Completion thoughts: Amazing. There are some things I wish were a bit better (the story didn't feel like it had enough dramatic weight, maybe one or two more bosses) but it left me wanting more - in the best way possible. This is a game I'll treasure for a while. Some of the best exploration and puzzle solving in any metroidvania, hell, any game ever.
A short but endearing experience. The art and visuals alone make the game feel worthwhile but the unique type of discovery and exploration this game offers make it a welcome and fresh offering to the genre. Highly recommend giving this a chance.
Coral & The Abyss is a science-fiction action RPG developed and published by Intrugli Games that combines exploration-focused gameplay, challenging combat, RPG progression, and a richly atmospheric world. Drawing inspiration from Metroidvania design principles, the game places players in a mysterious environment filled with hidden pathways, dangerous creatures, and fragments of a forgotten tragedy. Rather than relying on extensive dialogue or objective markers to drive the experience forward, it encourages players to uncover its secrets through observation, exploration, and persistence. The story follows Coral, one of the few survivors of a failed attempt to colonize an unknown planet. Stranded within the remains of the Crystal Mountain, a once-mighty mothership now reduced to a silent and decaying wreck, Coral must search for answers while navigating an environment filled with danger. The ship itself serves as both setting and narrative device, with abandoned corridors, damaged systems, and scattered clues gradually revealing what happened to the mission and its crew. The storytelling remains intentionally subtle, allowing players to piece together events through environmental details rather than direct exposition. Exploration forms the foundation of the entire experience. The world is structured as a large interconnected environment where progression depends on curiosity and discovery. There are no constant prompts directing players toward objectives, and very little hand-holding throughout the adventure. Instead, the game rewards careful investigation of every corner of the map. Hidden routes, secret chambers, and overlooked pathways often lead to valuable upgrades or important pieces of information. This approach creates a strong sense of immersion and makes exploration feel genuinely rewarding. The interconnected design of the world is one of the game's strongest achievements. Areas link together vertically and horizontally, gradually revealing shortcuts and alternative routes as players unlock new abilities. Returning to previously explored regions often leads to fresh discoveries, reinforcing the feeling that the environment is a cohesive place rather than a collection of isolated levels. This structure encourages memory and observation, rewarding players who pay attention to locations that initially appeared inaccessible. Combat plays a major role in the journey and provides a satisfying counterbalance to exploration. Battles are fast-paced and demand concentration, requiring players to learn enemy patterns and react quickly under pressure. Success depends on mastering movement, timing attacks effectively, and understanding when to retreat or defend. The combat system remains engaging because encounters rarely feel mindless. Even common enemies can become dangerous if approached carelessly, encouraging players to remain attentive throughout the adventure. Character progression is handled through a series of unlockable abilities and upgrades that enhance both combat performance and exploration potential. As Coral becomes stronger, previously unreachable sections of the world gradually become accessible. This creates a satisfying progression loop where every upgrade serves multiple purposes. New abilities not only increase survivability during combat but also open doors to hidden areas and additional secrets scattered throughout the environment. Boss encounters represent some of the most memorable moments in the game. These battles act as major milestones and often require players to fully utilize the skills and abilities they have acquired. Each boss introduces unique mechanics and attack patterns, creating challenges that feel distinct from standard enemy encounters. The difficulty can be demanding, but victories feel rewarding because success is earned through skill and perseverance rather than luck. Atmosphere is arguably the game's greatest strength. The Crystal Mountain feels like a genuinely abandoned place haunted by the consequences of a catastrophic failure. Flickering lights, damaged machinery, strange biological growths, and eerie environmental sounds create a constant sense of tension. The game successfully maintains an air of mystery throughout the adventure, encouraging players to continue exploring not only for progression but also to uncover the truth behind the colony's collapse. The visual presentation embraces pixel art while delivering a surprising amount of detail. The environments are carefully crafted, with every area possessing its own identity and mood. Despite the retro-inspired aesthetic, the game manages to create impressive scenery and memorable locations. Character animations remain smooth during combat, while enemy designs effectively communicate both danger and the alien nature of the world. The visual style contributes significantly to the game's atmosphere without relying on cutting-edge technology. Sound design further enhances immersion. Metallic echoes, distant mechanical noises, and subtle ambient effects help bring the environment to life. The soundtrack is used with restraint, often allowing silence and environmental sounds to carry the emotional weight of exploration. When music does emerge during important moments or intense battles, it amplifies the experience without overwhelming it. This careful use of audio helps reinforce the sense of isolation that defines much of the adventure. One of the game's most admirable qualities is its confidence in the player's ability to figure things out independently. Rather than constantly explaining mechanics or objectives, Coral & The Abyss encourages experimentation and discovery. This design philosophy creates a more immersive experience but may also prove challenging for players who prefer clear guidance. At times, the lack of direction can lead to moments of uncertainty, particularly when searching for the next objective. The difficulty level may also present an obstacle for some players. Combat encounters and boss fights demand patience and practice, and progression occasionally requires thorough exploration. Players seeking a more relaxed adventure may find certain sections frustrating. However, the challenge generally feels fair and aligns well with the game's focus on rewarding persistence and careful observation. Despite these minor drawbacks, Coral & The Abyss delivers an engaging blend of exploration, action, and storytelling. Its interconnected world, strong atmosphere, satisfying progression systems, and memorable combat encounters combine to create a compelling experience that rewards curiosity at every turn. The game succeeds not because it constantly overwhelms players with spectacle, but because it carefully builds a world that feels mysterious, dangerous, and worth exploring. For fans of Metroidvania-inspired adventures, atmospheric science-fiction settings, and challenging action RPGs, Coral & The Abyss offers a rewarding and memorable journey. Its focus on discovery, environmental storytelling, and player-driven exploration helps it stand out within a crowded genre, making it a worthwhile experience for anyone who enjoys uncovering secrets hidden beneath the surface of an enigmatic world.
