Coral Island

I really, REALLY, wanted to like this game since I had it wishlisted for so long and I really love this genre. After starting it however I was utterly disappointed since it was literal copy of Stardew Valley. I know that different games can inspire the developers, but at least use your own ideas more when copying other. Making existing game again with different engine is lazy and insulting. While playing I noticed some cutscenes being the same as in Stardew Valley and some NPC are also the same (Emily, Leah for example). Even the map design is almost similar except ranch and your farm has switched places. At least use different names, there are more than 20 names in the world. I have already played Stardew Valley 100% with steam achievements, I don't need another Stardew Valley in my library, so this game feels so RIP OFF. I wanted farming simulator with new cinematics and new plot. I don't want another community center, another joja cola I mean pufferfish to invade the small and good town. Been there, seen that, done that. Even though this game gives a lot of negative feeling through its copied content, I have noticed that the devs are adding more content that is trying to make it different from Stardew Valley. The bug catching is nice additional hobby, while the museum is similar to other games, it still adds value through professions and that is fine. The diving is excellent addition to the game and I want to compliment devs about making that. It is a good direction and good choice, to make your game different. You don't have to invent mining, farming, foraging, or fishing again since they work, but at least put an effort into relationships with NPCs or make different cinematics. Museum works well with the professions . Talent trees for professions are similar to Stardew Valley -.- I am still struggling to start this game from steam library since it feels I am still playing a game second time where I had completed the game 100% first time. It feels waste of time. I will still try to finish at least 1 year to see what else has been copied and what are original and based on that I might re-write my review if this game deserves that.

Es un juego de ranja super cozy e inclusivo en e que ves toda clase de cuerpos con todo tipo de pieles hasta con protesis, donde te puedes sentir super agusto con los personajes porque los npc están super bien hechos. Incluye el la mina, plantar, etc lo tipico pero la parte del mundo de las sirenas es francamente super linda la estetica del juego. Para mi ya está a la par que stardew valley y con posibilidad de superarla

Coral Island has been a spectacular time from start to finish. A cozy environment; check. Robust farming simulator; check. Beautiful and interesting named characters with stories and relationship progression; check. This game really has two possible downsides. 1) If combat and dungeon exploration is a must then you might find the experience lack-luster. Also 2) If you're highly irritated with American Left-Wing political views/ are a RIght-Winger then strap in for an exhausting affair. Not that these things are actually a real problem but the game includes a very diverse cast both ethnically and sexually/ a complete absence of Judeo-Christian symbolism/ an environmentalist story in which a mega corporation staffed by unreasonably hot and non-datable characters is the overt main-villain. Of course if that's not a problem then enjoy your days or maybe even years in this canonically magical realm! If you choose to embark then many different moments of serene happiness will be yours!

Kurz gesagt: Dieses Spiel ist einfach großartig! Meine Begeisterung geht so weit, dass ich nach jedem größeren Update einen komplett neuen Spielstand angefangen habe. Ich wollte einfach jede neue Mechanik, jede Story-Erweiterung und alle neuen Inhalte von der ersten Sekunde an im vollen Umfang miterleben. Und was soll ich sagen? Selbst nach dem vierten oder fünften Neustart wird es niemals langweilig. Der Gameplay-Loop motiviert jedes Mal aufs Neue. Das Spiel besticht durch eine wunderschöne, farbenfrohe Grafik und eine unglaublich lebendige Atmosphäre, die sofort zum Entspannen einlädt. Das Gameplay rund um das Farming, die Minenarbeit und das Erkunden ist perfekt ausbalanciert. Ein echtes Highlight ist das Tauchen und das Reinigen des Ozeans, was frischen Wind in den gewohnten Spielablauf bringt. Zudem sind die Charaktere und die Bewohner der Insel tiefgründig und wachsen einem schnell ans Herz. Man merkt einfach mit jedem neuen Update, wie viel Herzblut in der Entwicklung steckt und wie kontinuierlich an der Verbesserung dieser Welt gearbeitet wird. Wer dieses Genre mag, wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Das Spiel nimmt die besten Facetten des ruhigen Farm- und Erkundungs-Genres und modernisiert sie auf eine wunderschöne Art und Weise.

Bought this game a year ago and it has been collecting dust in my library ever since. Never really played it or paid much attention to it. I thought it would be just another typical farming game. However, when I finally decided to give it a chance, I regretted not playing it sooner! This game is so fun and cozy. While the farming mechanics are indeed similar like other farming games (ofc cause it’s farming game lol), what makes this game feels special is this game has its own unique charm. As a fellow Indonesian, it feels really nice to see Indonesian culture and environments represented here. Balap karung is included as well, haha xD Seruuu! Currently romancing Wakuu ;> I started playing this game just a day before the 1.3 update came out, didn’t even know there will be a new update! and now there’s manual saving! It’s making my life so much easier, lol. Looking forward to reach 100+ hours playtime! ^_^

Great game, really fun, lots of content!

I have played many hours on this game and it has yet to get old. There is always something to do.

co-op: doesn't feel co-op, because quest progress is not shared. I feel like I'm playing alone, but my friend happens to also be running around somewhere. We aren't working together towards a common goal. function: when i'm traveling around areas that have fiber, grass, trash, or basically stuff that i need to pick up with my scythe, it feels very clunky. it misses often, i have to swing multiple times, and it takes away from playability. love the music, love the visuals, love the diversity. the little story that I've experienced so far has been great.
