About
Follow a group of players who meet in an online game. They have different situations, but end up with a common goal, to exploit a loophole and make a living playing videogames while being a NEET
Kinetic Visual novel where you control the pacing
Cutscenes with Hand drawn animation and a painterly artstyle
Gameplay is more like a movie with small interactions
Get emotionally involved with the characters and their relationship over the years

Set in a fictional game, with a similar virtual economy to TF2 where players trade skins and hats often even ignoring the actual game and
Inspired by our own experiences growing up playing MMOs like WoW, runescape, and community server games like TF2, Gmod, just to name a few
One of the game's main focus is the relationships our characters forge. Anyone that played online games growing up knows these thoughts: Does that community I hung out with still exist? I wonder if the guild is still active. And what about that homie that told the wildest jokes? Is he still alive? He probably got married and has kids now. Hey he's online... No, I'm not gonna send anything, he probably doesn't even remember me. What if the other side thinks the same?
Friends we still remember, but never met face to face. Hundreds, for some thousands, of hours with people who one day might just have their last match together, their last raid, without even knowing it. "GG see you tomorrow", last seen online 10 years ago.
Where is everyone, and how are they doing? Do they remember? Convento is a love letter not just to videogames, but to the gaming community as a whole.

great visual novel worth a play, the characters are interesting, the writing is a breath of fresh air and the art is very unique. If you played any type of mmo or game like wow or tf2 you will be able to relate to this alot more than you probably think. It does take a few minutes to understand what's going on, like any "book" worth reading, but once you're invested you will very quickly get sinked in. Can't wait to see more
First Episode - roughly 1 hour This game is something special. I usually don't like VNs that much, but this game hooked me the moment I played the demo for it. It's about a group of misfits who form a guild in an online MMO to raid bosses and make money off of shady activities and scams in hopes of getting rich and never having to work a real job. The writing is great at capturing the ways we communicate online and how despite forming an online persona, our RL self always shines through in the end. It's really funny & full of memes as well. I took a huge amount of screenshots and caught myself laughing out loud several times. But it's not just about being funny or integrating as many memes as possible, it's equally contemplative and melancholic. It makes you think, feel and vibe.
Earns my BAD ASS seal of approval.
Don't be fooled by the review time, this game is great. A perfect hit of nostalgia for anyone who spent their formative years playing TF2 on Minecraft trade servers, or who merchanted unusuals around like an ancient Sumerian buisnessman. Artstyle is strangely refreshing, writing is fast and witty and the characters feel genuine and tangible. In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend a playthrough of Convento to anyone who's spent time in communities like TF2, CSGO, GMod, or old MMOs Also, I'm buying quicksell Marine Captains, paying fish or cash! Edit: These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ didn't put an ARG on gambanet.fish, cringe, 0/10 never buy
Was expecting a very static visual novel. What I got: Interesting conversations, cinematic shots, shrimps, hand drawn cute art, loot box addiction, popping bubbles and infinite fish. Still need to finish the episode but I hope the devs keep releasing more stuff.
It's hard to give this game a complete review as it isn't finished yet, and honestly early access is an odd release choice for a visual novel, but I like what's here so far. As it is now, Convento seems to be an interesting look at the nature of online relationships through the lens of a fictional online game that anyone who's ever played an MMO or even games like TF2 with strong online communities can probably relate to. Whereas its hard to gauge where the story is going with how little of it there is right now, for the price I think its worth keeping an eye on. Check out the demo first if it sounds interesting to you!
I laughed. I cried. I was stabbed through the heart repeatedly. This game sees you and you see yourself in it. Wow. I really thought this was going to be some type of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Like just goofy gamer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the ♥♥♥♥ of it. But it smacked that expectation right out of me when it started to unfold the experience of being a misfit gamer, finding your tribe of other misfit gamers and learning to open up and connect awesome saucily. Or ♥♥♥♥ them over because you only care about the common goal. lol Subplot maybe kind of. Also, the different typing sounds (or in lil shrimp girl's case, musical tinkling) was a beautiful little detail coupled with the writing of each individual's personality I just- MMMM~ *CHEF'S KISS*. I just can't get over how this subverted my expectations in the best way because boy howdy was this title ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good! <3
I just finished this piece of art and I highly recommend it, it's very immersive due to the soulful writing and artwork. I always love when something makes me feel the way this game did, I actually needed that at the moment. Some of it was really relatable and brought back some old memories for me, to me this is why video games are art. Every line of dialogue, every texture, character, place and so on in a game is the culmination of the artists life, the creators life and experiences and others they have spent time with, there's soul that goes into every detail and choice. A piece of art is eternal along with the soul memories of the readers and players, feel free to enjoy it.
Normally I do not find Visual Novels fun, they are mostly boring. But sometimes I get games like this one, at first I thought the art style was going to bother me, but after playing for a while I realized that it wasn't boring me. The story itself is interesting and I even see some of my feats in some characters which makes me root for them. I give this game for now 8 out of 10, but it will probably change after the full release.
