Very much enjoyed playing this horror game so far. Impressive seeing as its from a solo dev. Looking forward for future content. It had me on the edge of my seat, lots of suspense and a great atmosphere. The puzzles were a nice change of pace which allowed me to take a breath before being stalked some more. Would definitely recommend, solid game so far, well worth the price.
Games I would compare this one to Amnesia (Dark Descent, The Bunker), Alien: Isolation Unique Mechanic In this game, you have to use wood (timber) found throughout the map to create cover in hiding spots (under tables, in crates, through doorways). Do not make the mistake I did and try to build cover as the monster is walking into a room. The monster will break it and kill you. On Normal difficulty, there is plenty of wood... if you don't build cover literally every time the monster breathes. Good Story Pay attention to the cutscenes and notes found throughout the map. The story is easy to follow along if you are paying attention. It's similar to stories I've heard before, but it has enough added to it that it doesn't feel like the same stuff they feed in most horror games. It's harder to explain it without spoiling, so buy the game and play it! Voice Acting In an age where many games use AI voices, this is not one of them. The voices are done by voice actors (yay!). Most of the notes are not read by anyone, so do not be afraid of any robot-sounding voices reading you thrilling notes. The voice acting is done very well and didn't break my immersion at all. Sound Design The sound design for this game is really good. There were some moments, like cutscenes or jumpscare moments, where the sound is slightly louder than other times. The monster sounds like a mixture of a Xenomorph and Wendigo (Until Dawn). The monster's audio is distance-based, meaning the closer it is, the louder it will be. Monster Design Do you like Cryptids? Creepypastas? Amnesia: The Bunker? Then this game's monster will be right up your alley! While there aren't any moments that you get to stare at the monster without dying, the sneak peeks you can take through your cover are terrifying enough. As mentioned before, the monster sounds like a mix of a Xenomorph and Wendigo. The monster will come looking when loud noises are made, so be ready with your hammer and wood! Overall Review The level design is gorgeous. The puzzles are challenging but simple if you're really good at puzzles like I was, apparently. The story is good. The voice acting is fantastic. Gameplay for chapter 1 is roughly 60-90 minutes depending on how quick you move, how often you die, and how easy you find the puzzles. This game is well worth it for the price. This review may change following the release of new chapters. This review was made based solely off of chapter 1. My playthrough (Chapter 1): https://youtu.be/e14_xOONIJM?si=qanrOXPZMO21xJdD

It is a fun game with a good length for the first instalment and at the price. It has a nostalgic feel to it that reminds me of the early 2000 games, for me in a similar art style as half life 2 or return to castle Wolfenstein. Which I really liked, it also has some nice art and voice acting. The mechanic of needing time to hide and build a wall, does a good job of keeping you on your toes, by forcing you to paying attention to sounds and your environment. As you are in danger, keeping alert and having an escape route is your best defence. I like the hidden items around the map, I think it is important to reward people for exploring.
You get the current chapter and upcoming ones for your money, so current price is a steal - well-paced and well-crafted shorty but goody horror, that looks and runs better than a lot of triple A games nowadays. The gameplay and atmosphere feels like a natural evolution of indie classics like Amnesia: TDD, except now even merely hiding forces you to scavenge for and use precious resources to remain undetected. It's a very cool concept that is so far used well, with the game not being afraid to put you in with the monsters early on. We got a castle (dope), some classic journal-based storytelling and some great cutscene art, so it's looking lovely right now.
This game surprised me! I had this one for quite sometime and never played it but then finally did and was blown away! Dont skip on this game. It is so good and terrifying! Loved every minute of chapter 1. Now moving on to Chapter 2!
Updated review for chapter 2. Great game at a great price. I found there was a few graphic issues after chapter 1 launched but the dev has fixed them all in both chapter 1 and there is no issues in chapter 2 either. Puzzles were much better in chapter 2 and the game was also much more scary. I love that. Sound design and voice acting were great and the graphics are amazing as well. I played the whole 2 chapters on steam deck and they run perfectly. Also the game has full controller support. 10/10 would still highly recommend and I cannot wait for chapter 3 to come out. Story also got much better.
This review is written before the release of chapters 2+. This game is a good introduction to the horror genre. It is not too intense, so you could see if you like that kind of game. You control a weak hero against a relentless menace, while trying to keep your cool to solve some light puzzles and use resources carefully.
A dark and atmospheric game. Definitely worth picking up if your into jump scares and enjoy the feeling of constantly being hunted down. The visuals are great and you really feel part of the world Flawless with no issues for a new early access game whiich is a pleasant surprise. Got to play for a little while today and looking forward ttoo finishing off later in the week!
Epic game. In a similar vein to Amnesia the Bunker but in a much smaller capacity (at the moment) with having to hide from one creature throughout the game. The building shelter mechanic is really interesting and adds an extra depth with having to hide and be stealthy. Finally the voice acting is high quality and definitely adds to the immersion well. Gameplay is short so far (around 1 and a half hours) but good to get the game now if you're interested as the price will increase when the remaining chapters are released so you can get it now for cheaper.
Smooth controls; Background sounds/noises that enhance so much the immersion; Nice graphics; Great atmosphere; Overall Great Game.
